Dragons’ Den: What Did You Think Of Hamfatter?
Dragons’ Den kicked off again tonight and I was quite surprised to see a band approach the Dragons for £75,000. The band put forward their proposal, and then sang a song for the five business gurus in the room.
I loved it when Theo Paphitis asked them if they saw Simon Cowell in the room, as my first thought was also that they were on the wrong TV show.
Duncan Bannantyne kicked off the bidding by offering the band their £75,000 but in return wanted 50% of all profits from future album sales until his investment was recouped and then his percentage would drop to 10%. Deborah and Theo put a similar offer on the table, however would only drop their final percentage to 20% but offered more in the way of expertise and industry experience. Peter offered the band the full amount also and wanted a flat rate of 30% of all future income.
After some discussion the band decided to go with Peter Jones’ offer, mostly swayed by his contacts in Sony BMG.
So what do you think? Will this band make it, or will they fade into obscurity once the show ends? Will Peter be the mentor that they are hoping for?

I think I’ve been up all night revamping their website - and I know them well - lovely guys who deserve the success!
They were in there for 2.5 hours - doesnt show on the program, and they’ve got a far bigger business plan than was shown. Eoin is amazing as well -been at it for 6 years - check out their youtube/myspace and see for yourself.
And no, I’m not a fan, I’m a friend of the band and think they deserve it - nice one for bloggin it up, it is kinda extraordinary I guess

I was surprised the tree party lady didn’t go with peter. It seemed like he had more resourses??? Really good opening episode to start of the series. This show is never going to be as good as apprentice but its still pretty good. I liked Hamfatter. Gonna try and find thier site now. When was this filmed? Does the friend of the band know how well the deal is going so far?
