Jerry And Kate Daly Pitch ‘Send A Kiss’ To The Dragons’ Den

An Eastbourne Couple, Jerry and Kate Daly have braved the Dragons and entered the Den in order to pitch their product, ‘Send A Kiss’ and hopefully win a life changing investment.

The Eastbourne News reports:

Their idea is Send A Kiss — a kit which includes everything needed to make a cast of a pair of lips which can then be painted and sent to loved ones as a personal gift. Jerry Daly described the filming of the programme as ‘petrifying’, especially considering the couple were only given two weeks’ notice.

Despite practicing the pitch over and over, Mr Daly likened the experience of being grilled by the business entrepreneurs to ’skydiving without having been in an aeroplane before’. He said, “You’re putting your whole life investment on the line for your head to be hacked off. “It’s a massive risk you’re taking.”

The idea for Send A Kiss came from an unfortunate set of events. Originally Jerry, who knocked out one of his teeth eight years ago, was inspired by the cast the dentist made to correct the problem and set up a business making body casts for the likes of Dave Courtney OBE and darts player Bobby George. Two years ago Jerry also suffered a heart attack and came up with the idea of casting lips in his hospital bed. Kate had always maintained that his lips were his best features so he arranged for a friend to cast his lips, whilst still bed-ridden, and had them sent them to his wife.

To find out whether the pair managed to get any financial backing from the TV show, tune into BBC2’s Dragons’ Den on February 14 at 8pm.
