Boadicea disappoint us at Got To Dance semi-finals, but Ashley Banjo loves them!

Are you ready for Boadicea? This London-based all-girl hip-hop act close out tonight’s Got To Dance semi-finals, and they’ve got a lot to live up to – Ashley Banjo once commented that they were his absolute favourite street dance group EVER! Can they bring it tonight?
The girls look brilliant in gold tops and tight black trousers. The routine is acrobatic in places and downright brilliant in others, especially when they do the wave move. But there are points where you find your attention wandering. There’s an awful lot of running around in circles, and the soundtrack isn’t particularly exciting. I wish they’d chosen a funkier backing track. I wonder what the judges will think? It certainly didn’t live up to my expectations.Kimberley Wyatt told the girls that she’s a big fan, and commends the hear, soul and passion they put into every move. Adam Garcia notes that they were nervous at the beginning, but they “got it together”. He also raves about their “sensual female power” and awards them a gold star. Ashley Banjo tells Davina “I’m in love with these girls.” He begs the audience to vote for the girls, but even if it’s for him. Which is a stupid thing for a judge to say, because the audience should be voting on the merits of the dancers, not because they’re Ashley fans!
Or maybe he secretly thought the routine wasn’t good enough?
What did you guys think of Boadicea tonight? Am I being too harsh about their routine or did you find it lacklustre? As always, let us know in the comments.

What on earth are you talking about they were great!
couldn’t disagree more!
they were great.. and didn’t just rehash the first routine
I’m still in love with their first audition. They were great in parts, the middle fell short, but they redeemed themselves to the end. Plz, plz Boadicea, hit harder next time. I really want girl power to win!!
I agree 100% Im majorly put off ashley after this it was unfair the way he done that and in most cases like this the supposedly impartial judge would be disciplined for asking fans to vote for them for him, and the act in the semi final wasnt near as good in my eyes as the audition
Hi there,
Thanks for all your constructive comments guys. We know not everyone is gonna like what we put out there but we take all our comments good & bad seriously, so all this does help us. We wanna be better & we are gonna work hard to do that.
I totally understand that some people do not agree with Ashly asking the public to vote for us(we were shocked too) but hopefully we can prove that we are good enough for the final & give you an amazing performance. We are so lucky & grateful to be where we are now with all the amazing talent around us. I just hope the public realise the blood sweat & tears that each act goes through to deliver on the show. Even though we are an all frmale crew, are aim was to always represent people from every kind of background, age & work ethic. No matter what you look like or how you feel….Dance is for everyone in different ways! thanks again. hope you all enjoy the shows xx
Love you guys, keep doing what you doing.
