Grease: Biography Of Brian Friedman

Brian Friedman began his dance career at an early age in his home town of Scotsdale, Arizona. His mother Judi was a dance teacher and he inherited her passion for dance.

Since quitting school as a teenager in order to commute to Los Angeles to dance, Brian has built himself a highly-respected career as a choreographer, dancer and artistic director.

As a dancer he has appeared with artists including Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, George Michael, Christina Aguilera, Paula Abdul and Destiny’s Child.

Having carved a reputation as a dancer Brian began to choreograph and since then he has worked with some of the world’s best known pop artists including Britney Spears, Usher, Beyonce, Pink, Fatboy Slim and Prince.

In 2003, Brian was nominated for an MTV 2003 VMA for Best Choreography for Mya’s My Love Is Like…Wo video.

A close friend of Britney Spears, he has choreographed her videos for the singles I’m A Slave 4 U, Overprotected, I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, and was also the main choreographer for her Dream Within A Dream tour.

In addition to choreographing music videos, Brian has worked as an artistic director in commercials, television and also on several feature films, including Charlie’s Angels, Austin Powers 3 and She’s All That.

Brian has recently appeared on TV in both the US and UK, putting his choreography expertise to use as a judge on the Fox TV series, So You Think You Can Dance.
