Grease Is The Word: Anthony Kavanagh and Danny Bayne Make It To The Final
It’s Anthony Kavanagh and Danny Bayne who are heading to the finals to battle it out against each other for the lead West End role.
It was a testosterone affair tonight in an all boy semi-final tonight as the final four Danny’s go head to head, and with only two places available in the show?s final in two weeks time, the pressure was really on.
Heading to the finals, and one step away from the lead role are Danny Bayne and Anthony Kavanagh after both winning on the public vote.
The Judges earlier on in the show chose Danny Rhodes to leave the competition after the first performance. Danny, ?In my heart I knew I was off home tonight, because in my heart I wanted these boys to have the opportunity.?
And in the public vote it was Michael Quinn whose Grease journey had come to an end, in an emotional goodbye, Michael thanked David Ian for all his support. And David Ian said, “It’s not goodbye, we will definitely be working together again in the future.”
Simon Cowell came to the studio tonight to watch the show from the studio to see how the finalists are fairing.
David Ian questioned Kavanagh’s commitment to the competition, saying that he thought “In you heart you want to be a pop star again and there are others more committed to this than you!”
David Ian, “This is the biggest challenge so far, Danny in the West End show needs to be able to stand on the stage on their own and captivate an audience, so tonight they all need to prove they can command a stage.”
And this week all three disciplines needed for the lead role, singing, dancing and acting are all going to be tested, as each of the boys went to a special acting class with ex-soapstar Jennifer Ellison, and the Judges will take their acting classes into account when making their decisions,
All four Danny’s, Danny Bayne, Michael Quinn, Anthony Kavanagh and Danny Rhodes had to perform one song each before the Judges picked one semi-finalist to leave the show. The three remaining Danny?s then had one more chance to perform before the vote lines opened and the public voted for their two favourite Danny’s to go through to the final.
