Grease Is The Word: Anthony Kavanagh Playing The Holiday Inn
Anthony Kavanagh, or Kav as he was known in the nineties, came second in ITV’s Grease Is The Word, and hoped that his success in the show would relaunch his flagging pop career.
However, just a few months later, Kav has ended up performing in a Holiday Inn, where punters pay £26 for a three course meal and a night of entertainment provided by a failing popstar.
A little while ago, I read that Kav had been a diva to the person who maintained his unofficial fan site on MySpace. The basic gist was that he had completely blanked the person after they showed years of support to him. I can’t help thinking that gigs in the Holiday Inn are a little taste of karmic intervention for someone who’s (allegedly!) so up his own arse!
It sounds for all intents that Kav is taking on any job that comes up at this stage. Acting, singing, reality television. I think he needs to focus himself instead of being some kind of odd job man.

KAVANAS FIRST LIVE ACCOUSTIC NITE………..
HAVING BEEN A FAN OF KAVS FOR MANY YEARS I WENT TO SEE
HIS FIRST LIVE ACCOUSTIC GIG LAST NITE AND WOW HOW SHOCKED WAS I TO SEE KAV SIT A PIANO AND SING SOME HIS HITS SOME NEW SONGS AND SOME COVERS ALL ADAPTED BY KAV FOR THE PIANO. KAV IS A TALENTED GUY BUT LAST NITE HE EVOLVED NO LONGER THE MINI POPSTAR OF THE NINETIES
KAV PLAYED THE MUSIC KAV SANG THE MUSIC KAV LIVED THE MUSIC……I HAVE SEEN LOTS OF KAV PERFORMANCES IN THE PAST AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO MESMERISED OR AWARE OF JUST HOW TALENTED KAV REALLY IS BUT LAST NITE KAV SHOWED EVERYONE JUST HOW TALENTED HE IS . SO IF YOU SEE KAV ADVERTISING ANOTHER ACCOUSTIC NITE PLEASE GO ALONG IF YOU CAN JUST TO SEE HIS TALENT I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF KAVS BUT THE ACCOUSTIC KAV WILL ATTRACT A LOT OF NEW FANS WITH HIS ACCOUSTIC STYLE HE WAS A PLEASURE TO WATCH AND HEAR….TO THE CRITICS THAT HAVE LABELLED HIM WITH THE PLASTIC POP PIN UP TITLE LET ME TELL YOU IF HE EVER WAS A PLASTIC POPSTAR LAST NITE HE MELTED AND A NEW MATURE VERY TALENTED MAN SAT AT A PIANO AND MESMERISED HIS AUDIENCE I DOUBT ANY PLASTIC POPSTAR WOULD BE CAPABLE OF THAT.

Thats a bit cruel to talk about Kav and Holiday Inns, i have met him a couple of times, he is lovely, bubbly, sweet – genuinely likes people!! which is more than i can say for most celebrities. So he plays a Holiday Inn?? He is still performing! All that says is he just wants to perform, be that on tele, in a big show, or a holiday inn. The press are so cruel to talented people, and yet you fill your pages with “Chantelles, Channelles and Jordans?” what the hell are they talented in?
Keep going Kav!! Yes Karma will take place, and we will see you come out top!! Rachel xxxx

Kav is so far from a Diva that it made me laugh! I had a chance to hang out with him a few times (through mutual friends) and he is, as Linda says, a really nice guy! Funny and cool and sweet and talented! He was nice to everyone! So, give him a break! Maybe he had a bad day or something, but it is not his m.o. to be a Diva. He is lovely and I am a big fan!!

I agree Kate… Kav has never been anything but nice to me as a fan. He is a really sweet guy and people should stop giving him a hard time! He is a very talented singer and songwriter…maybe the press should come to a gig to see this for themselves before slating him and listening to gossip!!!
