Angus Deayton Axed From ITV’s Hell’s Kitchen

Angus Deayton has been axed from ITV’s reality TV show, hell’s Kitchen, after a string of rows with chef Marco Pierre White.
The Daily Mail newspaper reports that Angus and Marco spent all of the last series at loggerheads and show bosses were forced to choose between the two for the new series which kicks off this April.
‘Marco and Angus never got on and now Angus has been axed from the show,’ a source told the newspaper.
They added: ‘He [Angus] is seething but Granada realised they basically had to choose between him and Marco. At the end of the day, Marco’s the star of the show and the bigger personality.’
‘Angus tried to make the peace at the end of shooting but Marco was having none of it and told Angus he had nothing to say to him,’ the source said. ‘Angus is pretty humourless in real life. He can dish it out but he can’t take it. Marco basically wiped the floor with Angus.’
I wonder if they even really need a presenter for the show? I think ITV would score better ratings if they followed the formula of the American version more closely. Ditch the stars, bring in real life people who aspire to be world class chefs and most importantly BRING BACK GORDON RAMSAY!

Yes, bring back Gordon Ramsey, but more importantly bring back Angus Deayton, he was why we watched this programme, and much as I love Claudia, she just doesn’t deliver the droll humour that Angus did.
