New series of Gordon Ramsay’s US cooking competition. 18 contestants will battle it out for the prize of a head chef position at BLT Steak in New York City.

The competition kicks off with the signature dish challenge, with the most successful team getting to enjoy a lunch at the LA Market restaurant at the JW Marriott Hotel at LA Live, where they eat with last season’s winner.

Before the evening service begins, there is a shock when one contestant has to be rushed to hospital. The remaining chefs must continue in the kitchen, where things do not go according to plan – and some customers leave before their food even arrives!

Amanda Colello last night became the second contestant to be eliminated from the 2011 season of Hell’s Kitchen USA.

The 26 year old personal chef, who hails from Sun City, was voted off the show by Mr Nasty himself, Gordon Ramsay, after the entire red ladies team found themselves kicked out of the kitchen.

The blue team performed well on the episode. The challenge of the day was to feed a hungry group of children and their mothers, and they coped with the service well, managing to leave most of the diners with a full stomach.

The blue team stayed calm under pressure, while the reds struggled as Carrie and Elise continued to butt heads and argue.

So while the blue team were sent off to enjoy an afternoon at Medieval Times, the red team stayed behind to start cleaning and assembling play sets for the family dinner service that evening.

As the blue team returned for the evening meal, worked coherently and stuck to the communication plan, the reds fell apart after a series of arguments and Amanda just couldn’t get to grips with her fish dish. As she cooked it badly and even forgot to fire some pieces, Ramsay looked on in disgust.

In the end, the red team’s families were left hungry and after making the wannabe chefs apologise, Gordon kicked them out of the kitchen altogether!

After service, Gordon chose Jennifer, Amanda and Carrie as his bottom three and while most hopefuls would have been glad to see the back of Carrie, the boss man chose to send Amanda packing as she lost her will during service failed to “fight back.”

Hell’s Kitchen is always a stressful experience for the hopefuls taking part, but few of them end up needing hospitalisation because of the trauma!

On last night’s season nine opener, 29 year old Jason Zepaltas ended up being rushed to hospital for medical attention, after he found himself struggling to breathe, while preparing for the restaurant’s first service.

It was a sad turn of events, as after medics failed to stabilise the Chicago man on site and transferred him to a local ER room, Gordon Ramsay informed his fellow chefs that not only was Jason out for the night, but because he would be remaining in hospital for a few days, he was out of the competition altogether.

His early departure left the Blue Team short one member and as a result, they failed miserably, not even managing to get a single entrée out to waiting customers.

When asked to choose two team-mates who should face elimination, the contestants singled out Steven Paluba and Monterray Keys, however after some deliberation, Ramsay decided that Chino Chang should join them as well.

It was a pointless move, as in the end he choose to eliminate Steven, a 44 year old sauté chef from Ridge, New York.

The celebrity chef has revealed that he will be opening ‘White Weddings’, which is based at the West Tower country house in Lancashire town Aughton, in January 2010.

“Romance is what it’s all about in this industry, it’s what customers look for, but this is what a lot of modern day venues lack. Romance is the only thing that never dates – so I will invite my guests to step into a truly romantic environment,” said a the Leeds-born chef.

The West Tower general manager added: “It’s a major coup to be bringing Marco Pierre White to the West Tower and the north-west. By becoming an exclusive Marco Pierre White private hire venue, we now have the platform to offer our guests an unrivalled wedding, conference and events service.

“His association has led to us being inundated with booking enquiries, several of those from high profile celebrities who have some very exciting projects in the pipeline.”

ITV has cancelled Marco Pierre White’s ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ saying that making the show is too expensive. The surly chef will be back on our screens but in a slightly adapted show titled ‘Marco’s Kitchen Burnout.’

Burnout will be much cheaper to produce. No longer will the apprentice chefs live together, nor will ITV build their own restaurant. Instead they will use a real London eatery and according to The Sun, celebrity guests will have to pay for their food.

A show source told the newspaper: “It’s no secret that Hell’s Kitchen was an expensive show. This time they’re keeping the costs down and making it easier for decent celebs to take part – because they won’t have to live with everyone else.

“Bosses are gunning for some good names so it should be a cracking show.”

The show will be filmed in January and February next year and aired on Friday nights in April.

Danielle Bux has admitted that she had given up on marriage before she met football star, Gary Lineker.

The Hell’s Kitchen champion married Lineker in Italy last week.

She told Hello: “Before I met Gary, I’d given up on the idea of getting married.

“As a young girl, you do imagine your wedding day, but as you get older, you get real.”

Bux added that being married to Lineker will make her “the happiest woman in the world”.

Danielle Bux and Gary Lineker have gotten married in Italy this week, but one person not invited was her dad.

Roy Bux told tabloids that he only heard about the wedding when he saw it in a newspaper.

According to London Lite, he said: “I love Danielle to bits and would do anything for her. A daughter’s wedding is one of the most important days in any father’s life. I am heartbroken.

“If I had gone, Danielle would have been unhappy. I wish her and Gary all the very best.”

In my experience, if a daughter snubs her dad in this way, there is normally a VERY good reason. Stop moaning and put some effort into being a decent father Mr Bux!

Here is the clip that everyone is talking about! On the latest episode of Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen a disgruntled wannabe chef squares up to him and for once it’s not Gordon shouting the expletives.

Gordon gets the upper hand in the end as ex Marine Joseph trips over a step on his way out, but as much as he tried to act unruffled, Ramsay definitely was a little worried before the producers stepped in.

Hell’s Kitchen winner, Linda Evans has revealed that she turned down the chance to appear on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Evans told The Mirror: “Working in a sweaty kitchen under pressure is one thing but slumming it in the Australian bush is quite another.

“Maybe I’d have done it when I was 25, but not now. I like my own space and at 66 I’ve had plenty of practice.”

She added: “Sharing a house with the others on Hell’s Kitchen was enough to get used to. Imagine having to do it in the jungle with the bugs in your bed.

“I’d much rather kill an eel than eat crocodile testicles. Not my cup of tea.”

Former Hell’s Kitchen presenter, Jean-Christophe Novelli has admitted that he irarely leaves the house in a bid to avoid the public’s scrutiny.

As well as starring on Hell’s Kitchen, Novelli also competed in X Factor: Battle Of The Stars in 2005..

Novelli told Take 5 magazine: “I don’t feel comfortable with it. I don’t go out anymore. I’m quite reserved, believe it or not.

“Sometimes people overdo it, not just women. I was on a plane one time with two stag parties. They went f***ing crazy on me, excuse my French.

“I love where I am, and I love this country very much. But it can be difficult sometimes, especially if you are tired. I wish I could just pick my nose and not worry about being seen.”
