Hell’s Kitchen 2009: Adrian Edmondson Isn’t Out To Make People Laugh

Comedic actor Adrian Edmondson has admitted that he isn’t out to make people laugh on this years series of Hell’s Kitchen.
Adrian said: “I am not going on as a joker, I aim to have fun, I am kind of treating it quite lightly.”
He went on: “I don’t know if that’s the right way to do it, but this is my natural way and I don’t know what’s gonna happen if I get told off like a small child because I haven’t been told off like a small child since I was one. If they do that, if [host Marco Pierre White] gets a bit cross I don’t know, I don’t know how I will react until it happens.”
The 52-year-old comic actor added that he is a good cook but has gotten bored with the same dishes.
He said: “I am not brilliant. I am an adequate cook. I can cook a very good Sunday lunch, I do Christmas dinner, those are my two biggies but I am basically bored.
“One of the reasons for coming [on Hell's Kitchen] was thinking that I might actually get my mojo back about cooking, because I really get tediously bored in the kitchen. Once you’ve got your five dishes that you do, it’s very hard to get out of it isn’t it, very hard to think, ‘why don’t I use this in a different way?’”
Hell’s Kitchen starts on ITV1 on Easter Monday.
