Hell’s Kitchen ITV: Celebrity Chefs Announced

Hell’s Kitchen is back and Britain’s first rock star chef, Marco Pierre White, will be turning up the heat and taking over the reigns to put 10 celebrities through their paces.

Those facing the challenge of serving food at TV’s most exclusive restaurant are: model Abigail Clancy; former Blue singer Lee Ryan; actress Kelly LeBrock; former world boxing champion and ITV sport boxing expert Barry McGuigan; former newspaper editor Rosie Boycott; Emmerdale actress Adele Silva; TV presenter Anneka Rice; singer Paul Young, comedian Jim Davidson and TV presenter Brian Dowling.

Hell’s Kitchen re-opens for business for just two weeks and the celebrities will be battling it out live every night to put food on the table and try to become the winning chef.

In series one actress and singer Jennifer Ellison was crowned the winning chef after creating a signature dish of burger with chunky chips under the guidance of Gordon Ramsay. In series two ten members of the public stepped up to the pass under the guidance of Gary Rhodes and Jean Christophe Novelli and Terry Miller, from Gary’s team, won the contest.

Now Marco is in charge and he has just two weeks to train a group of amateurs into professional chefs who can serve mouth watering dishes to a restaurant of discerning celebrity diners.

The celebrity trainee chefs will be separated into two teams – red and blue – and have to create the sort of food which is fit to be served in a top eaterie.

Hell’s Kitchen is presented live every night by Angus Deayton from a brand new location in London.

Marco was the first ever British chef to achieve three Michelin stars – before handing them back.

Marco, described as the ‘Godfather of British cooking’ is already promising to take no prisoners as he attempts to turn the famous trainees into fully fledged chefs.

He is sure to feel the heat as he steps back up to the serving plate and he could employ some of his old school tactics to knock both the trainees and celebrity diners into shape. In the past his legendary temper has resulted in him throwing irritating staff into the bin and dumping customers out on the street.

Marco – nicknamed ‘The Great White’ by his friends, is responsible for teaching some of the country’s greatest chefs – Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal both worked in his kitchens.

His bid for perfection may have earned him three Michelin stars but how will he cope in the ultimate celebrity diner? Will the customers go hungry and who will feel the heat and be forced out of the kitchen should the trainee celebrity chefs fail to meet his exacting standards?

“I won’t be thinking of the trainees as celebrities,” says Marco. “What I’ll be looking for is talent. I want to see tears, I want to hear laughter, I want to see people fight and I want to see people learn.

“I might be the hardest person they’ll have ever met but I’ve got a heart just as big. It’s about picking people up off the floor and inspiring them to want to carry on ‘til the end.”
