The contestants had just arrived, they hadn’t even spent their first night in the jungle and at this early stage they lost their first contestant.

Elaine Lordan better known as Lynn Slater was approaching the camp when she came over a bit light headed and had to be helped down the hill by Sheree Murphy. When describing the experience later Sheree said ” she began to shake uncontrollably….then just went all hard”. Basically after what looked like a minor fit of some sort Elaine collapsed and medics were called in to examine her.

After coming round and given some oxygen Elaine was pronounced well enough to join the camp. But just a little while later the same thing happened with Elaine passing out once more. Elaine was then loaded onto a stretcher by the medical staff and brought to a nearby hospital, where she remains now.

This unexpected turn of events seemed to shock the other contestants, some of who ended up in tears as Elaine was carried out.

It is not yet clear what was wrong with Elaine. But it is reported that she is not seriously ill and wants to rejoin the camp as soon as possible. Watch this space for the full story tomorrow night!
