“I am super competitive and I really don’t mind admitting it, if you do something I’m going to do it better.”

Glamour model Nicola McLean says she is going to be this year’s Janice Dickinson when she arrives in the jungle.

Nicola, who describes herself as competitive, loud and outrageous, said she will be just like Janice because she isn’t afraid to argue with people.

She says: “I am super competitive and I really don’t mind admitting it, if you do something I’m going to do it better.

“People may find that unattractive but that is just me. I don’t do it in a obvious way, I’m not like ‘Pick me, pick me!’ but if somebody is seating opposite me and they eat something then I’m going to eat it because I will not be defeated and I think that’s just my natural character you know, being quite strong.

“I love Janice Dickinson as I think I am quite like her. I am a character like she was but you have got to get me, if you don’t get me you think, ‘Oh, I can’t bear her’. She got to the final and people just realised she was just blunt and she said what everybody else was thinking but she cares.

“And I am like that, I can’t help it, I will try my hardest not to say the truth but at the end of the day it has to come out.

“I loved Biggins as his laugh would warm everything up but I like more controversial characters like Janice. I don’t like being bored which is another thing I will struggle with as there is a lot of down time, I am always moving and I am constantly on the go and the physiologist said she will be interested to watch me because she doesn’t know how I will cope with the boredom. There will be a lot of boredom, a lot of sitting around chatting.”

Nicola, who is engaged to Peterborough FC footballer Tom Williams, also says she will love being filmed 24 hours a day and doesn’t care if some of the contestants don’t know who she is.

She says: “I’m going to love being on camera. I’m a natural show off, I enjoy that and I hope I don’t snore because that is truly unglamorous.

“I don’t think people are going to know who I am to be honest. Which, actually, is going to be embarrassing when I walk in the room, but do I really care? No, because there have been loads of years when I didn’t know who people were and I read every celebrity magazine going, I buy the tabloids and there’s quite a few people where I haven’t known who they are.

“It’s just your different genre isn’t it? I’m sure if there are some young lads, they may know who I am but then the older people won’t. So I’m sure they’re going to think, ‘Who is she?’ but because we meet in the hotel I’ll have on what I wear so I’m sure they’ll think ‘Glamour Model’. They’re just going to think that I’m a dumb blonde and that’s great. I agree with Pamela Anderson, ‘Act dumb and no-one expects anything from you’.”

Nicola says she is scared of almost all the bugs/animals she will encounter in the jungle, but is most scared of anything that resembles a fairground ride.

She says: “The only thing I’ve done is one roller-coaster, Oblivion at Alton Towers, and the only reason that I did that is because of blind love. It was one of mine and Tom’s first dates and I told him that I didn’t mind going to Alton Towers but I won’t go on any rides.

“He said that was fine and that we would just walk around and do the games but when we got there he said, ‘Oh please go on just one ride’, and because I was madly in love with him and wanted to impress him I went, ‘Ok then’, and he took me on Oblivion. I swear to God I hated him for those three minutes. I’m just not keen. In Vegas I wouldn’t go on any of the rides. I like to be on the ground.”

And the thing that she will miss more than anything else is her make-up.

She says: “Well, apart from my family it’s going to be vanity things and I’ve just got to be honest about that. I don’t like my face without makeup on. I look about 12, there’s nothing wrong with it, I just like to be really over glamorous, which is why the boobs are done and why I have all the hair extensions. So it’s just going to be vanity because Tom has never seen me without makeup on, even during childbirth, so I am actually quite worried about that. When the physiologist said to me, ‘Have you got anything to ask me? What are you worried about?’ I said it’s going to be that and she said, ’Yeah, it’s a hard thing’.”
