I’m A Celebrity 2011 show 3 review: Mark Wright goes topless – Sinitta and Pat Sharp make their big entrance!
What a bunch of drama queens! Tonight’s episode treated us to two whole days’ worth of jungle antics, and it seems that the experience is already taking its toll on most of the celebrities! “I’m sick of hearing the moaning!” confesses Crissy Rock, before Mark Wright treats his campmates to a spur of the moment pep talk (shirtless – don’t pretend you didn’t notice). Fatima, for some reason decides that giving the team a boost of confidence might not be the best idea, and it’s clear right from the get go that tensions are starting to run high.
Suddenly, as soon as Mark is announced as the competitor for the next bush tucker trial, his tone does a complete 180! “I can’t do it, I can’t do this” he repeats, over and over again. Oh, Mark. You’re really doing nothing to help yourself with the viewer’s trial voting.
We’re down at the trial area, and both Stefanie and Mark are getting into position, ready to be thrust into a darkened tomb. Mark gets off to a head start, as Stefanie fails to realise where she’s supposed to send her collected balls. He eventually pushes ahead and wins food for his fellow comrades (and gets shirtless – again. I’m not complaining).
Stefanie returns to camp with no food, but the ability to make everyone roll around laughing at her Wizard of Oz uncourageous lion hairstyle.
Crissy and Willie are next to be sent off into the wilderness, to fling koalas into baskets for the right to claim the next celebrity chest. Whilst Willie got on with it, Crissy provides for some excellent laughs but shows she clearly couldn’t be any less bothered about the prize!
Mark creates a game for everybody to play in camp in which the others must guess what his top answer would be for questions such as ‘top footballer’. This is where fussy Fatima most likely goes from one of the favourites in the show to least favourites within seconds. Not only does she become so riled by the fact that she doesn’t win the jungle game, but she allegedly accuses Mark of being fake after instructing him to remove his microphone for a private chat! Oh Fatima, you just lost a fan. Antony sums up the situation perfectly; “It’s passive-aggressive, and it’s horrible.”
Fatima’s sudden outburst makes dinner time just a tad awkward, but her apology before bed ensures a lot of the tension created was laid to rest. “We’re a family”, says Mark. The Addams Family instantly spring to mind.
‘Boris’ the spider comes out to play as Crissy rises from her bed. “I wondered what was tickling me!” she screeches in her strangely endearing Scouse accent, whilst searching for her new eight-legged friend.
The stars are told that Freddie has been discharged from hospital, but will not be returning to camp. Jessica-Jane explains that she is especially upset by the news, which is a little awkward when we see Freddie refer to her as ‘the other girl’ in his Ant and Dec interview.
The next morning, the celebs are informed that two new arrivals are making their way into camp! The two are of course self-proclaimed ‘big popstar’ Sinitta and Pat ‘The Mullet’ Sharpe.
Pat and Sinitta are taken to a high wire after deciding to let campmates eat so long as they take the ‘hard’ route into camp. This first part is especially hard for Sinitta, who has to sit and let Pat pull her across the entire creek, and then watch Pat walk his way over by himself! She definitely drew the short straw.
Meanwhile, both camps are having the inevitable ‘way of cooking’ disagreements! Willie and Stefanie have a mini disagreement on the proper way to sauté vegetables, but it seems nothing in comparison to what’s going down at Croc Creek! Fatima is of the view that she could do a better job cooking than Antony, which upsets him, then immediately tells Lorraine and Mark that they should do the washing up (after passing on washing up herself the night before). Lorraine puts an end to the arguing before it can properly begin, and this I admire her for. Lorraine is slowly becoming one of my favourites.
The unused cave from episode one of this series makes a reappearance now, as we jump back to Sinitta and Pat’s first night in the jungle. Shrieking Sinitta, who really doesn’t seem cut out for camp life proposes her and Pat sleep together. He must be ‘so macho’ (I’m here all week).
Spiders, cockroaches and all sorts of nasties infest the cave, ensuring that the two get little; if any sleep, but their powering through of the challenge will mean that everybody will receive their luxuries back at camp! How lovely.
Dougie and Fatima are announced as the two to compete in ‘Rat Run’, and with that we come to the end of our mammoth sized episode! I’m A Celebrity returns tomorrow night at the later time of 9PM.
