I’m A Celebrity bosses are reportedly planning to challenge two of the shows new contestants to swim in shark infested waters.

The Mirror reports that as the filming for the show kicked off, the 11 celebrities were whisked off on a luxurious yacht for a photoshoot.

However Ant and Dec later revealed to them that one man and one woman would be required to swim through the shark infested stretch of water to a nearby desert island.

Executive producer Chris Bogden said: “We’ve had to increase the safety equipment for this challenge to go ahead.

“We upped the sonar surveillance on the boat and we made sure that there are shark nets surrounding the island – but the celebrities don’t know that. Great white sharks have been spotted in the area recently.”

The trial will be aired on the first show of the series at 9pm on ITV1 tomorrow.
