Katie Price famously left the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! jungle in 2004 having found love with fellow-camper, Peter Andre.

Five years later, Katie is about to re-enter the Australian outback.

Katie says: “I’m going back in because it’s an amazing experience, I’m a working mum and I want closure on the fairytale that I had. I’ve got no agenda, I’m not going to act any different, I’m just going to be myself. Obviously six years on I’m more mature, I’m wiser, and I shall just be myself.

“I don’t think I’ve got any advantage over any other person going there apart from I’ve experienced how hungry they really make you!”

There is a huge interest in Katie’s personal life, so is she going to use this experience as a chance for people to see the real her?

She says: “People see the real me on the reality show, to be honest, but this is a different kind of show. This is putting you through the test of starving you, making you do challenges, you know, living in an extreme way. So it’s completely different to the reality show. But like I say, I’ll just be myself.”

ALL WASHED UP

The first bush tucker trial of the series, saw Sam and Gino competing for bed and food for their fellow celebrities.

Entitled All Washed Up, the duo were told by presenters Ant & Dec that they would have to take it in turns to find stars hidden in some wreckage on the beach near to where they had spent the night. There were 11 stars, and each star would be worth a meal and bed for camp.

First up was singer Sam Fox who placed her hand in a hole in the wreckage and grabbed a star, unfazed by the crab that was guarding it. Next up was Gino who was slightly perplexed by the octopus inside but rescued a star.

The second task was ‘Smuggle’ in which they would have to hold a water spider in their mouths for 30 seconds. Sam was quick to place the spider in her mouth and complete the challenge. Admitting his fear of spiders, the chef finally found the courage to complete the task and joked: “that was different…salt would have done it!”

In their third challenge the celebrities had to place their heads in an urn that contained yabbies and beach worms. With Sam quickly completing her challenge, Gino said, “why couldn’t I have gone first, now I look weak!”

The final two challenges were entitled ‘Cabin’ and ‘Helmet’. The celebrities were told that ‘Cabin’ would be worth two stars whilst ‘Helmet’ worth three.

Gino offered to take helmet and Sam entered the cabin to look for stars in the compartments. Each compartment was filled with eels, crabs and yabbies. With one minute in which to find the two stars, Sam failed the challenge and complained, “The waters so dirty you can’t see.”

Gino faced his fears yet again, by being encased in the ‘Helmet’ with spiders. Struggling to contain his fear, Gino managed to endure the maximum 90 seconds and won three stars for camp bringing their overall total to nine.

As they left Ant & Dec handed them a key and hammock telling them that the key was for when they get into camp and the hammock was a bed for one of the celebrities.

IT’S PLANE SAILING

Lucy, Colin and Sabrina faced their fears as their trip into camp involved a tandem jump at 12 000 feet.

As they arrived at the airfield the group were apprehensive at the prospect of jumping out of a plane with Sabrina joking that she may have to go first as she “might pee on someone on the way down”.

After their training, the group board the plane and the realisation of what lied ahead started to sink in. A terrified Lucy kept repeating what she had learnt whilst Sabrina and Colin tried to contain their nerves.

As they neared the jump, Colin muttered, “Why am I doing this, I’m bricking it.” Strapped to an instructor he took position on the edge of the plane and jumped out. A shocked Lucy screamed and said: “He just went.”

When he landed the interior designer said, “That is absolutely insane. Do I look as if I’ve had the best sex ever?”

Next up was Sabrina, having already confessed to a fear of heights the singer shut her eyes and then disappeared out of the plane.

After she had landed Sabrina said: “It was amazing, it was fantastic.”

This left a petrified Lucy in plane, the actress who was struggling to contain the nerves said: “I’m so scared.”

As she is moves to the edge of the plan she screamed “Oh My God” and then leapt from the aircraft. Emotional, she cried as she sailed through the air with her instructor. As she landed, Lucy said: “I cried my eyes out, I was really emotional…I was thrilled about it.”

A NEW JUNGLE HOME

George and Kim were the first celebrities to arrive at the camp after a gruelling jungle trek. The two chat all the way with Kim telling George she will have a six pack by the time they arrive. “I’d like a six pack of Australian beer” joked George.

Kim was surprised at how small the camp was and the two immediately attempted to light the camp fire – with limited success. “What do you know about anything. All you know is glamour and women” Kim joked, flirting with her new companion.

Next in were Stuart, Jimmy, Justin and Camilla who did a trek on horseback into the jungle. Some of the celebrities found the trek difficult – Camilla got thrown off her horse and Jimmy got his foot stuck in a stirrup. But Justin saved the day, helping both celebrities. Upon arriving in the camp, Stuart immediately took on the mantle of Crocodile Dundee and set to lighting the camp fire where Kim and George failed, getting it started in a matter of minutes.

And last to arrive are Lucy, Colin and Sabrina who did a tandem jump into the jungle. All three were petrified when they were told that they would be undertaking a tandem jump into camp but all rose to the challenge.

Justin was thrilled to see Colin again after they were split up whilst they made their way to the jungle. He said “Colin for me is an amazing source of comfort. He’s like the ultimate security blanket. He’s everything to me. Completely and utterly my world. We are just completely and utterly like two little peas in a pod. It’s great to see him because we’ve been apart for so long. We don’t spend any time apart.”

And Colin added “We’re exhausted. So we got to the camp and it’s a bit of a relief but at the same time you’re suddenly there and it really is a reality that we are going to have to sleep under the stars in the forest and there really are no home comforts.”

BED HOPPING

Gino and Sam returned from their overnight challenge heroes as they had won 9 stars and therefore 9 meals and beds for camp. This did however mean that two of the celebrities would have to sleep on the floor. The camp mates all agreed that Gino and Sam should have the relative comfort of the caravan – but Gino immediately offered his to one of the ladies.

The camp offered the place to Kim who declared that she snored. “I snore and I snore bad” she said. This prompted Sam to give up her place telling Lucy that she needed a good night’s sleep. So George got to sleep in the caravan with Kim. “A lot of respect is given to me and I’m really appreciative of that” he exclaimed.

Kim was delighted. “George Hamilton. I used to watch him years ago. What a handsome man. And he’s so normal for a Hollywood star. He’s a smasher” she said.

But the unlikely coupling prompted a barrage of teasing from the rest of the camp. “If the caravan’s rockin’, don’t come knockin’” teased Colin.

And sure enough, Kim snored her way through her first night’s sleep in the jungle.

HOW CLEAN IS YOUR DUNNY?

As the celebrities woke to their first morning in camp, conversations soon turned to the dunny with most of the camp wanting to start the new day with a fresh clean toilet.

How Clean Is Your House? host Kim, took charge and opted to take on this role much to the other camp mates delight exclaiming: “I don’t need a hand its not heavy. It’s just poo in a bucket.”

Before heading off to clean the loo, Kim asked the camp if anyone needed to go “for a number two” and with the help of partners Colin and Justin the cleaning guru headed off to the infamous dunny. Before leaving the camp Colin bravely declared, “I’m not scared of sh*t”

Heading out of camp a minxy Kim offered a topless Gino help getting dressed and proceeded to run her hand over his bare back. But nothing could distract her from the task at hand and the group headed off to the loo.

Proving to be an expert in all things cleaning, Kim was a dab hand, much to Colin and Justin relief. Justin opted to use a pair of his pants as a mask but still found himself gagging at the smell.

“That’s all we do darlings, it’s a big fuss over nothing…That wasn’t hard to do!” said Kim. “You can’t even smell it really. Just don’t drop it on me” added Colin.

Earlier than morning, Kim, Justin and Colin were talking about George with Kim expressing that she “liked to look after him.” She said “Isn’t he (George) lovely, he’s always been known as very well groomed, he spends a fortune on his clothes. He’s been know to turn up at a hotel, he’ll take 50 suitcases staying 12 days. He wears the top clothes you can get your hands on.”

GINO IDOLISES SAM

Chef, Gino D’Acampo revealed that former page three girl and fellow camp mate, Samantha Fox was his ‘sexual inspiration’ when he was younger. He made his admission during a conversation with Samantha, Camilla and Stuart at the camp swing.

Having admitted during his previous night on the island with Sam that he used to be a fan which prompted a private performance of the singers hit, Touch Me (I Want Your Body).

Samantha said “He can’t wait to tell them that he slept with me on an island!”

And Gino rather cheekily replied : “What you don’t understand, for me it was a w*****g idol.” Samantha exclaimed “Oh my god…You’re making me embarrassed!”

And Stuart added “It’s true, when my grandparents used to have the Mirror or the Sun or whatever it was like yeah man.

STARS HIT STARS

The celebrities had to undertake a challenge to win food for their second night in camp. With Gino and Sam’s success, victory was strong in the celebrities’ minds.

Colin explained the task. To win a meal, each celebrity had to hit a star with either a boomerang, a nula nula stick or a throwing axe. The task looked harder than it seemed and only Sabrina, Sam, Justin and Stewart managed to hit the star successfully so the entire camp of 11 had to make do with four meals of fish and vegetables.

The stars were so hungry that George threatened to eat one of the celebrities – Jimmy and Kim being prime targets!
