Since he became the youngest designer to show at London Fashion Week at the tender age of 22, Scott Henshall’s fabulous creations have dominated red carpets. The man behind the designer dresses knows that the world of fashion would disdainfully frown at his involvement in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!…but quite frankly he couldn’t care less.
“Most people in fashion would be disgusted that I’m even doing a reality TV show, he confesses. “But as far as I’m concerned it’s as good being in Heat magazine as it is being in Vogue.
“Most people in the fashion industry are evil and horrible and I don’t even mix with them. This is why I’m doing this kind of show. Because you work in fashion, people sometimes think it’s pretentious, it’s all glamour, and to an extent it is, but at the end of the day I’m still a good Northern boy and I’m just doing fashion as my job.
With an infectious energy and a very individual sense of humour, Scott enthuses about his fellow celebrities:
“I want really fit hot cute straight boys that I’m going to convert from straight men to gay men, because I always prefer straight men to gay men. I’m going to have my own little clique and get them all in there and they’ll be my little posse.
A character at the very top of his game, Scott wants to go into the jungle to give himself a reality check but even he isn’t quite sure of how he will cope.
“I am a spoilt brat. I have everything I want and people looking after me 24/7. If I don’t like something, it goes. If I want someone sacked they’re gone. I get what I want, when I want it and it’s about time I have a reality check.
Later commenting that he loathes stereotypes such as ‘people should be skinny’, Scott admits that he likes to cause controversy with his comments and doesn’t care if his fellow campers take offence.
“If they get it they get it, if they don’t they don’t. Nothing bothers me because I am who I am and I should come across as a Northern boy that’s made good.
In a nod to the world of fashion, Scott will be buffing and beautifying before he goes into the jungle.
“I’m going to have a complete body wax and a fake tan before I go, which I know will wash off straight away. As for anything else, I’m worried about the rations. I love my food and I’m very extreme. For me its either Nobu or McDonalds, no-where in between. I love my food hot and I like it when I want it!
