Sunday morning in camp was like Christmas morning as Jason finally caught a yabby – after seven days of non-stop trying by everyone in camp.

Toby said: “I think we have been trying to catch yabbies since day one. ”

Myleene said: “We’ve had nets. I have had bottles with meat in it, with maggots in it. I’ve tried with worms, I’ve hooked up rods with safety pins as hooks to try and catch these yabby. Then Jason was swimming for his morning dip – and he saw a one! ”

Jason managed to catch the elusive yabby as he got out of the pool and could hardly contain his excitement. He returned to camp, delivered the news and everyone was elated.

Matt says: “I don’t think I have ever seen Jason so excited. He was like a little boy.”

“God this feels good.” Jason said. “I tell you, what a Sunday!!”

But any plans for crayfish and rice for lunch were quashed when Jan suggested they put it back – the yabby was hardly big enough to feed one person, never mind twelve. Lauren however wanted the yabby dead, and quickly!

It was a split call but after a group consensus the yabby was freed.

“My heart tells me to set it free.” said Jason. It’s the right thing to do.”

Isn’t Jason sweet! This is exactly why I want the man to win.
