Legendary music mogul Malcolm McLaren is to appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity. Get Me Out Of Here’.
Lifestyle Extra reports:
The former Sex Pistols manager will follow in the footsteps of his arch enemy, the band’s frontman John Lydon, who walked off the show three years ago after a series of foul-mouthed rants.
The two punk legends have not spoken for more than a decade after McLaren fell out with the band over finances.
Now producers of the hit show are hoping the former manager - famous for his outspoken comments - will help spice up life in the jungle.
A source said: “Malcolm is a major coup for us. We hope he will be just as outspoken and controversial as John Lydon was.”
McLaren, 60, recently blasted Simon Cowell’s TV talent show ‘X-Factor’, insisting the contestants on the programme were “talentless”.
He fumed: “Talent needs three ingredients to make a real lasting impact - sex, subversion and style. The ‘X-Factor’ does not find anyone with that.”

While there is something quite true in malcolms diatribe on the X-factor, the general public just is not as loyal now, as they were in the 60’s-90’s, so very few of the artistes on x-factor will make it long term. Its not really their fault its OURS.
Sid Vicious, malcolm’s beloved creation could hardly be classed as talented, so malcolm shouldnt knock todays artistes.
Sid has been given a status in rock history , cos of his death, his drug taking and the death of Nancy Spungeon.
Sid could growl well and looked stoned better than pete doherty, but surely he was never talented.
If anyone sang “my way” like sid vicious on the X-factor, half the public would be wetting themselves
laughing, while the other half would be
calling social services in “deep concern”.
And what about malcolms own chart offerings Buffalo “Girls go round the outside” and “ebo ebo ebonettes” they are in the same category as “Hey you the rocksteady crew”, we remember that song with the same joy as we remember Maureen from driving school’s spoken ditty “I like driving in my car”.
While most of the bloggers werent born when Malcolm hit the charts, some of us are old enough to remember his “Shame”.
Also isnt the reason Johnny lyndon hasnt talked to malcolm for years, because Mr Rotten thinks malcolm
was a money grabbing exploiter of the sex pistols.
Some of us remember the “Great Rock and Roll Swindle”.so while everyone seems to be exploiting everyone at the moment in society on TV, music industry
etc, wasnt it people like malcolm who started this type of behaviour ” simon cowell” behaviour
in the first place.
I’ve always thought of Malcolm Mclaren as a jonathan king type character without the perverseness.
Those Buffalo gals, go round the outside, round the outside……
Also when did he get so old, punk moguls cant be sixty can they?
Saying all that I’d rather listen to, God
Save the queen, Anarchy in the UK, shut up you pretty thing etc , than anything or anybody from X-factor. So the old punk’s got a point.
I have a strong suspicion that people do not want rebels any more, as we have all become too comfy and bands like the sex pistols would not be able to grace the front cover of all the teen magazines and womens coffee table dribble mags
So even if we had the next great Rock God in the UK, not many people would like them , back them or put money into their careers.REAL REBELS ARE NO LONGER MARKETABLE.
Malcolm like me, can be left with dreams of how people were much tougher and anarchic in the past.
God bless the Rolling stones, the “pistols”, Sham 69, the Clash, the Who, Prodigy,Motorhead,Judas Priest, black sabbath, undertones etc and all you other hellraisers as it dont look like we’ll be getting any more of you in the 21st century.
Vera lynn looks like a hellraiser compared to many of the reality talent show contestants, but time stands still for no man, not even the granddaddy of punk.
Never mind hopefully malcolm and those who think like him, myself included, can look forward to failing hearing and sight with old age. so we wont be subjected to “scrubbed up choir boys and girls” singing elton john songs on reality tv talent shows.
“I am an anarchist, tum te tum……”.
