Darren Gough, Miles Jupp, Fatima Whitbread, The Cuban Brothers, Dani Harmer & Tyger Drew-Honey join Let’s Dance For Sports Relief

A host of new stars are getting ready to put on their dancing shoes as the latest names taking part in this year’s Let’s Dance for…Sport Relief. Joining this year’s roll call are:

· Former England cricketer Darren Gough

· Actor and comedian Miles Jupp,

· Former Olympic and World Champion athlete Fatima Whitbread & comedy group The Cuban Brothers

· Tracey Beaker actress Dani Harmer & Outnumbered star Tyger Drew-Honey

Hosts Steve Jones and The One Show’s Alex Jones kick off the series on Saturday 18th February.

Stars already limbering up for the show are Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, Amy Childs & Harry Derbridge; Angelos Epithemiou & Ulrika Jonsson; Ava Vidal; Terry Alderton; Arabella Weir; Tony Blackburn & David Hamilton; Scott Mills & Olly Murs; Omid Djalili; Watson & Oliver; Laurie Brett & Tameka Empson; Patrick Monahan; and Rowland Rivron.

This year will see the acts (a mix of solo dancers, duos and groups) compete over five weeks, with four heats culminating in a spectacular final on Saturday 17th March.

Celebrities will perform iconic dance routines in front of a live studio audience and performances will be reviewed by a panel of three judges, made up of comedians, some of whom were former contestants.

The panel of three, together with the viewers will vote for their favourite two acts to go through to the final in week five when the final eight will dance with the hope of being crowned Let’s Dance champion 2012.

Audiences will also be treated to weekly musical performances from the likes of JLS, Chris Isaak, Jessie J, Will Young, LMFAO, Tinchy Stryder and Pixie Lott.

Let’s Dance for… Sport Relief is produced for the BBC by Whizz Kid Entertainment. The Executive Producer for the BBC is Jo Wallace and the Executive Producers for Whizz Kid Entertainment are Malcolm Gerrie, Lisa Chapman and Barbara Lee.

Sport Relief Weekend takes place from 23-25th March and raises money to change lives of extremely vulnerable and disadvantaged people across the UK and the world’s poorest countries.
