Let’s Dance For Comic Relief 2013: Ricky Hatton thinks his fancy footwork & tutus will save the day!
Ricky Hatton is all set to make his dance debut on Let’s Dance For Comic Relief this weekend and he thinks he could have a few tricks up his sleeve for viewers.
The boxing champion isn’t known for his rhythm or grace but he certainly looks comfortable in these pictures, choosing himself a pretty tutu from the BBC wardrobe department for Saturday night’s show.
The burly sports man told The Radio Times:
“In the ring I think my footwork was very underrated. I used to feint then slip to the left, slip to the right in order to find my body shots.
“Let’s see if I can’t bring those moves from the ring to the dance floor!”
Ricky has now retired from boxing and revealed in the interview that he wants to now dedicate his time to being a good father.
Hatton has a son, Campbell, who was conceived after a short reconciliation with ex-girlfriend, Claire. The star has set up a trust fund to make sure his son was always provided for, and sees him every day.
He added to the Radio Times this week: “I want to be the best father I can be. When I was going through depression I nearly lost my family, my girlfriend, my life.
“So being grateful for family is paramount. Being healthy, keeping busy, doing shows like Let’s Dance – all of that will keep them happy.”
Ricky’s been working hard on his routine all week and tweeted yesterday saying:
“@HattonGym with @VinnieWilliams practicing my act for Saturdays @BBCLetsDance.Vote for me on Saturday. Even if you think I’m poo.”
