Make Me A Supermodel Criticised By Health Experts
Channel Five reality show “Make Me A Supermodel” is being criticized by health and nutrition experts after judges on the show made comments about a size 12 models weight.
The Daily Mail reported that Jen Hunter, 24, was reduced to tears when she was told that her legs were too stocky for her to be a catwalk model.
Judges said Hunter had not been taking her food and exercise regime seriously and had put on weight since joining the show.
Marianne Berglund, 18, who is Hunter’s rival on the show, has been shown to be clinically underweight, but the judges have said she has a “great” body, the Mail reported.
“It is highly irresponsible to tell a woman who is a size 12 she is too fat,” said nutritionist Fiona Hunter. “This trend towards the size zero is putting young girls’ long-term health at risk.”
A Channel Five spokesperson added: “The panel does not have any issue with Jen. However, Jen has not listened to any of the advice and subsequently put on weight.”

Hi To All,
I cannot believe tonights result on Make Me A Supermodel.Albert looks like the worlds worst transvestite “Emily Howard” from Little Britain,and his second walkoff was terrible!!!!..When Jen was voted off I have to say I was a bit disappointed,but I do feel out of the guys Luke was (or is )the best.Was Albert a plant throughout the whole show?Is he too commercial?Answers on a postcard please!!!

Albert is the most sensationally sizzling sexy male model…and I am sooo happy that he won ;o) Well done Albert!
I think Luke was superb too, and am sure he is going to do fantastically aswell – it was a close call
And why were you sad Jen was voted off…maybe if she had been exercising and toned up (note I am not mentioning anything about Jen losing weight) and had played fair, then I could understand, but she didn’t so karma bit her in the bum!!
Anyhow, fantastic for Albert

Hi Lola,
As I said, Albert is very commercial.You see his type everywhere.I am gutted that he won.He didnt deserve to.I am sure he is a nice guy but he is going back to the painter decorator thing within 6 months.He wasnt a deserving winner.I’m sorry if I piss people off but thats my opinion.In this case the best “MAN” didnt win!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted Marianne to win, or Luke but am happy Albert did. I don’t think Jen could be a SUPERmodel, obviously her weight is an issue and she is so untoned, she can’t do catwalk and I am angry that she robbed places from Anya and Sunnait who I could see as supermodels.

The problem with these types of shows (including x factor) is that when the public vote they don’t always vote on quality and skill. They tend to vote for either who they fancy, personality or controversial issues. Which is why I think Jen stayed in so long. The show was about being a ‘SuperModel’ and there was no way Jen could be classed as that because of her shape. Nothing to do with weight might I add but to do with her body shape and being untoned!

i think it’s ridiculous that anyone should vote for jen anyway- clearly she was not taking the job seriously as when she was told to improve, she did the oppositet. It’s nothing to do with her weight, it’s how she tackled the situation so unprofessionally.
if you were a fireman and told to ’shape up’ or a teacher and told to learn your times tables (bad example)= you would be professional about it ang get on with it.
Ps. also the british public are so consumed in jelousy, of course they’re not going to vote for marianne. Us brits seem to not enjoy people doing well.

First of all I just have to say who I liked lol – Luke, Jen, Marianne, Josh, Kerry and Albert.
First of all not everyone can be “Supermodels” you cant choose how you want to look if we did we would all be models!…. Kate Moss was born LUCKY….she was discovered in an airport at the age of 14! and to me that is a dream!…I am 17 now and I hate the way I look, I really hate it!
Izzy, I think your right about us brits we are soo jealous these days! but why do you think that is??? Magazines tell people how they should look and this is what you should wear and it puts pressure on people, its the same scenario with Jen’s weight! Yeah she is bigger than the other girls but lets have it right she had a better face than anyone!….and what makes me really laugh is that Tandy has the nerve too judge people on how they look! why does she work for a modeling ageny??? look at her! shes an ugly person inside and out.
Rachel Hunter isnt a Supermodel, ok shes been on vogue once and do Sport Illustrated!..I have never seen her do any European shows, never seen her in any high fashion campaigns, shes never done Vistoria’s Secret!….to me she just got her name recognised through Rod Stewart!
Karen Elson is one of the best Supermodels I have ever seen to me she is Unique, they will never be another Karen Elson

albert is the perfect person for that part, luke is okay but not perfect, marianne has a cute face and she’s photogenic but she is way too skinny and i think she’s a size -5, she cant be a supermodel cuz her body looks wierd and scary, anyone wld think she wld collapse any min, jen is cute, she has a real womans body.

The judges were saying that Jen was too fat to be a supermodel. And its true. Its not a case of being too fat in general, its a case of her not looking right for catwalk. Thats how the model industry works. If she wanted it that badly she shouldnt have put on two extra inches.
The British public are mad sometimes; the girls who went out would have made fantastic models.
And Im all for people not being skinny minnies, because in reality Marianne is too thin.
But thats one of the requirements for being a clothes horse.

The judges were not saying Jen was too fat in general, obvioulsy size 12 is below the national average of size 16, what they were saying is she is to big to be a “supermodel” which is true, and I am a size 12 myself so I’m not criticizing Jen’s size.

i see the points that all of you are putting across about whether jen is the wrong shape or not. even tho jen didnt win she without a doubt had the best face on the show. i also think it was great for the general public to see that skinny isnt always best. the size 0 phenomenon is just goin too far. too many girls are becoming stupidly thin and therefore becoming very ill. jen did a great job at displaying the natural womanly figure with confidence, altough shes not a size 6 or 0 she still looked great! she looked real! people need to forget wanting to look like skeletons, its rare that people find it attractive anyway!

hi does anyone actually know what sixe marianna actually is?apparently, she’s a size 8,but i dont know.
also,if anyone knows her measurements aswell because i only know that jen had a 29-inch waist but didnt watch marianne’s bit.
does anyone think that marianne’s just natrually like that and just eats really healthy, after all she is a vegatarien!

I actually hated Jen. She was so infuriating.
WHY DID SHE BEAT MARIANNE?!
Or more to the point how.
1. She cried when she was told she needed to lose weight.
- She NEEDED to. She was fat for a supermodel.
2. She pretended she was ill to gain votes.
- She wasn’t ill. She lied.
3. She complained that other models were being shown in a better light than her.
- They are in a better light than you.
For godsakes.
I don’t understand how she made it through the first auditions let alone the final.

I’m happy that Albert won. I liked him most out of all the men. But I really would have liked to see Jen win. Everyone said that she just didn’t have the body to be a supermodel. But why is that? Because we have warped perceptions about what kind of body a person needs to have before they can be considered a supermodel? Maybe those perceptions need to be adjusted. Why is it that we think supermodels need to have these ridiculously unattainable bodies.
Personally I thought Jen was beautiful, and she was great on the catwalk.

I HATE JEN. Manipulative girl, with mystery illnesses that doctors couldn’t find and what not. Talking incessantly to cover up the fact that she was too lazy to lose the weight It’s only right that she didn’t win–it’s a show about SUPERMODELS not plus-sized models for crying out loud.
I adored Marianne! So what if she’s too thin for the public–she’s a true model from head to toe and she was always among the most professional on each shoot. Most importantly, she looks FABULOUS in just about every shot taken of her. Despite everyone’s yapping, she had a healthy appetite! Check the footage, she liked to eat! Her frame is naturally THAT small. By the way, she’s not a size 0 (she’s a 4) so it would be nice if people would just STOP making her the poster girl for all the anorexic size 0 girls in the industry.
Anyhow, Albert and Luke made for a great final. Albert is gorgeous and Luke is hot hot hot!

i completely agree to all those who like marianne to win . she IS a SUPERMODEL. jen should not have joined the show. it is MAKE ME A SUPERMODEL not MAKE ME A PLUS SIZED MODEL!! jen is also a drama queen which is so annoying.
