Make Me A Supermodel: Mum of Jen Hunter Urges People To Vote For Her!
THE mum of a contestant on a supermodel reality TV show is begging people to vote for her daughter and keep her in the show.
Christine said to The Wigan News: “I would urge all your readers to vote for Jen. She’s a real northern lass and a great Wigan girl who is doing us proud.
“She has got great determination an a lot of commitment. It’s come as a real shock that she’s up for eviction tonight, we think she has been doing brilliantly.”
Christine then told of jen’s daughter Kyla: “She was really unsettled and crying when she saw her mummy on the television at first.
“But now she’s settled down a bit and she laughs and cheers when Jen comes on.
“It has been difficult. Since she’s been in the house, they have only allowed her to have one phone call and that was very emotional.”
Christine defended jen who has had some negative comments about her weight on the show: “She’s not a size zero model. She’s a normal, healthy size 12 and it’s hard to hear all the criticism that she’s getting on the show, it does upset you - I think watching it has made me lose about half a stone.”

Yeah I’m not doubting that Jen is a lovely Northern lass with a pretty face - but all the determination in the world doesn’t make a supermodel…
Didn’t u hear Tandy say that she wouldn’t take her on?
I do think the skinny model only is wrong & I do admire Jen for attempting to change that, but I doubt very much that even if she wins the show, she will have any success in high fashion modelling as at the moment skinny models are the bookable ones - also not to be picky, but if she was at least toned and a bigger size, then maybe she would have justification for winning…

The show isn’t called Make Me A Fat Attention Seeking Single Mother.
As as for faking that panic attack, she’s disgusting. As someone who suffers from panics attacks I find this particularily low and a pathetic last ditch attempt to retain her place in the competition!
If I wanted to see fat and ugly people on the TV I wouldn’t be watching a show called Make Me A Super Model
Do the right thing Britain, and vote her out! She doesn’t desevere your 50p or your sympathy. What she does deserve however is a can of Slim Fast and a healthy dose of fashion industry reality, AKA a diet!

what can i say jen should win she is a normal healthy size 12 like most of the women out here, why should we accept all these waver thin models? none of us are like that and it would be good for magazines, which young people read and let them know IT IS OK to be a size 12. VOTE FOR JEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that Jen is in the final I think this proves that the public are behind her and support her cause for the modeling industry to change. However, this is a competition and the best competitor should win. She hasn’t pushed herself as hard as some others and I don’t think deserves to win.
One more thing…the judges really got my back up last night with their comments directed at Jen. Don’t they realise that by Jen being a drama queen they have attracted a lot more viewers and its been entertaining…exactly what a TV show is about.
Vote Albert!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys,
If Jen is so “big” then why the bloody hell was she chosen to take part in the first place ? She won her audition fair and square. She obviously caught the eye of the people who casted this show,so give her a break, shes a hearty, healthy size 12.Sophie Dahl was a much heftier size 16 when she started , and my goodness Sophie is beautiful!!When it was announced that Jen was in the final the Panel did not have the courtesy to congratulate her.It just proves how shallow Rachel Hunter and her flunkies are.Its going to be quite stiff competition between Jen and Luke.I want Jen to win for the girls, and on a personal basis I would like to see Luke win, purely because I think he is one hot dude, and he does look delicious in tight white boxers!!!!(now IM sounding shallow, but naughty x )I think Jen will win overall!!!!

Hi
I think it is wrong that there is a prototype model; skinny. I think that Jen is a role model to a lot of girls my age (14) who look at models in magazines and fantasize about being their weight. I think it is completely unnecessary and if the modeling industry carries on publicizing skinny size six models we will have a generation of adults with anorexia and other eating disorders. As for Tandi saying she is fat she can talk she has to be a size 20 at the least!
LOL Jen. Hope she wins!

What the hell! She is so not fat and she has in my opinion tried much harder than Marie-Ann for example who is more focused on snogging luke. Hope you win Jen xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Also Lipstick Electric get a bloody life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am all for the fashion industry using bigger models…but Jen is not a toned size 12, she is wobbly and even on a skinnier girl (if at all possible to have excess wobbly stomach) then people would not want to see wobbly flab bursting over her knickers.
Also I agree with the disgust over her faking a panic attack - I too used to suffer from them and they are not to be abused just so a contestant can win - I agree with the judges that Jen is acting and that is poor form
Its not a question of Tandy being a hypocrite, Tandy isn’t trying to be a model, so that is irrelevant, I agree though that by dissing Jen over her weight, the judges are a major cause of the support for her…
Although somebody expressed to me the other day that it would be really ironic & funny if Jen did win as the judges probably put her in so they could be seen as being non-discrimatory and having a larger model in, but thinking she’ll be voted out…but it is a strong possibility that Jen may win now…
Personally I don’t think Jen is playing fair, she is just using the sympathy vote to get the public to vote for her - she hasn’t made much of an effort to tone up (& I’m not talking about losing weight) so why does she deserve to win? She def isn’t working as hard as some of the others - there are plenty of successful toned plus size models & I don’t have an issue with Jen winning if she was a toned size 12 and didn’t fake panic attacks and act her way though the show rather than be honest and true

I’m a supporter of Jen, however, I think she could reduce and tone in a short period of time and I’m not sure why she isn’t doing that, when clearly that’s ALL she has to do to earn the respect of the judges and her peers who are making an effort. I am tired of the self-pity and the low self-esteem.
Ok, now that’s out of the way, I’d also like to say that I’m am constantly impressed by Jen’s physical beauty and grace. She has amazing facial bone structure, beautiful eyes, and gorgeous expression. What I find so appealing about this woman is the spark in her. She has a vivacious personality. Marianne is gorgeous and suitably thin for the industry, but she’s so dull and unexpressive. I’m not sure the industry cares about personality the way it says it does, because it’s been obvious for some time that Marianne is a favourite of the judges regardless of the fact that she hasn’t demonstrated any personal spark or passion for the work. I find Marianne intensely boring. Likewise, Sennait lacks spark and personality. I do think Sennait has got what it takes for the industry and I doubt she’ll lack for work even though she’s been voted off.
My hope for Jen is that she gets her act together, stops whining, and makes an effort to diet properly and exercise. I expect she will be voted off next week if she doesn’t pull it together, but even if she is voted off, I believe she has enough talent, beauty, and passion to get work in the industry or in television in some capacity. Her facial features and personal spark make her the most impressive candidate but I fear she’s sabotaging her own chances of making it.
I haven’t seen proof she faked her fainting spell. If she did I can understand the anger of the judges toward her. But frankly, I think at least two of those judges are immensely neurotic and messed up and project their own issues onto these prospective models. Someone needs to rip the sunglasses off of that pretentious photographer and the lady who runs the fashion industry needs to lose a hell of a lot more weight than Jen. I wasn’t impressed by her negative responses to Anya. Blah…I do go on don’t I?
November 16th, 2006 at 11:58 pm
Jen failed! She didn’t work hard to tone up and therefore thankfully the voting public saw sense and voted her off!
Congrats to stunning Albert! And although Luke came second, I think he’ll be successful too!
But am sooo happy Albert won & he was genuinely elated and happy that he won! Congrats to Albert!! ;o)

i think it’s ridiculous that anyone should vote for jen anyway- clearly she was not taking the job seriously as when she was told to improve, she did the oppositet. It’s nothing to do with her weight, it’s how she tackled the situation so unprofessionally.
if you were a fireman and told to ’shape up’ or a teacher and told to learn your times tables (bad example)= you would be professional about it ang get on with it.
Ps. also the british public are so consumed in jelousy, of course they’re not going to vote for marianne. Us brits seem to not enjoy people doing well

I am sooooo glad Albert won i was wanting him to win from the beginning.I also liked jen very much when she was first in the house but over the weeks she changed although she has the most beautiful face but if you look back at the programmes when the camera was on her she seemed to be always eating. As for people saying that if the judges thought she was to big to be a model they should’nt have let her in well when she arrived in the house her waist was only 26inch and it went up to 29 inches after only 4 weeks so its not the judges fault its her own fault and i think she could have won if she had helped herself more. The judges were right in what they said about everyone and Rachel Hunter is still lovely.

Well Done Jen for triumphing over Marianne’s tight-lipped, skinny ‘ass’, and if that’s deleted for being ‘rude’ then so be it. It’s small fry compared to the verbal abuse and contradictory advice that Jen has had to deal with from the judges of this show over the past six weeks.
As in an earlier comment, why the hell was she allowed into this competition in the first place if she could not satisfy the criteria? The fact is, that she did so much better than anyone thought, to the point where the judges were visably worried she could win it. In all these shows, they ‘cast’ various characters and types, she was obviously the ‘overweight’ outsider who everyone was suppossed to have a giggle at - and then vote out quick. That didn’t happen.
They bring in a nutritionist to give them a lecture for half an hour, give them the opportunity to ‘train’ for half an hour/ hour a day with a Fitness Instructor. They also ply them with alcohol at every opportunity, and try very hard to encourage them to ‘get off’ with each other. Plus they had a communnal kitchen where they often had to cook and eat the same meals. Jen probably burnt more calories in a day looking after her daughter, I’d like to see Racheal Hunter put in those conditions and be asked to lose that weight in six weeks: I don’t think so.
I think the panic and ‘tactics’, the down-right two-facedness of the judges was distasteful and hypocritical. I don’t believe Jen could of lost that weight ’safely’, in six weeks, like they made out she could do in a doddle. That was what the judges fell back on when Jen started to do well through her own merit. The sickening thing was they perpetuated the falsehood at every oppurtunity that she wasn’t trying hard enough. It was their fault in the first place that they admitted her into the competition, they should not have done so if they were not prepared for her to actually do well, and compete!
The show took a sharp U-Turn in focus from the ‘tepid’ love ‘interest’ between desparate Luke and cod-faced Marianne, to an all out focused attack: Jen Is The Evil Enemy That Must Be Eliminated. That was the fault of the makers behind the show, and not the contestants.
Jen can’t be a Supermodel, but she did bloodly well on her own merit. She had everything except the right ‘thin’ genes. I don’t believe she got through on ’sympathy’ votes, the mere mortal voting public think she looked the part and nailed it.
The fault of this show was that it was called Make Me A Supermodel, the producers and directors and channel five should be lined up and ’shot’, for trying to shoehorn every conceivable ‘tacky’ angle into it. It was complete farce, every oppurtunity possible to humiliate the contestants, get them in their underwear, try and create some false sexual tension, and stess, and push them to ugly gossip, was fully exploited to serve the ends of painfully, shameful, teeth-grindingly bad television.
Isn’t it ironic that after all, the ‘Great British Public’, can see through it all. Most of the contestants could earn a living as a model. Marianne could do couture, Anya and Sennait catwalk, the gay one that got voted out early Editoral, Luke will go far without stuffing socks down the front of his pants!
Waz could do ‘Suit’s You’ Campaign & bring some humour to it!
Albert was a worthy winner, as a model, and for surviving the whole experience. Jen should be proud of herself, when given a chance for the last word to the judges, she was gracious and beautiful. She had every right to tell them where to stuff it for what they put her through, but she didn’t. Marianne’s face, on the other hand, on hearing the result looked like a turbot left on the harbourside to rot for a week!
Albert is a Gorgeous God-Given body who was a natural winner. Jen is a worthy female runner-up. If there was any justice in this world, she could be a Supermodel, she is beautiful, one day beautiful people like her will be selling us stuff.
By the way I am a size 6, happy with my size. My vote for her was not because I thought she was the ‘underdog’, or for ’sympathy’. I thought she Rocked, she undeniably had ‘It’. I wish her all the luck in the future. Jen one day the fashion world will catch up. Don’t ever give up, Jen you’re a real woman, photogenic, and beautiful.

After watching this show. I think Racheal hunter is a nonhuman being. She is so unprofessional as to talk “trash” about a contestant to another contestant. She talks about it being about health, when we know she spent time over a toilet. How healthy is that?!
May 3rd, 2008 at 10:58 pm
I HATE JEN. Manipulative girl who kept talking and talking and talking and then making up mystery illnesses to cover up the fact that she was too lazy to lose the weight. Why are so many people so blind!?! She was lying and conniving her way through each week!
She joined a competition about Supermodels, not plus-sized models. And she was given every chance to succeed despite the fact that she was older and bigger than most of the other girls in the competition. But she squandered the chances she was given by the judges, so I really can’t blame them for being upset with her.
By the way, Marianne is a healthy size 4 with a naturally lean frame (check her measurements online), so everyone should stop making her the evil poster girl for all the anorexic size 0 models out there.

loved jen
just like to point out that- when jen left the room rachel hunter was like- shes so pale then went out running after her really concerned about her.
you cant make yourself pale
so either rachel hunter filmed that bit were she runs out looking all motherly and concerned after. Or Jen was actually having a mild panic attack
Rachel Hunter and the judges were full of shit and well done to Jen for making a stand
