Must Be The Music: Kyle impresses with ‘Red’
Pianist Kyle gave it his all during tonight’s Must Be The Music semi final.
He told the cameras once more how his music was inspired by his condition synesthesia.
Speaking before his initial audition, Kyle had said: “I have this condition. When you hear music, you can see certain colours in your head.
“And I was watching a movie, and suddenly this piece of music came on, and it felt amazing, so I watched [people playing piano on] YouTube and I learned by watching their hands.”
Playing a composition named ‘Red’, the fifteen year old musician looked engrossed during his performance tonight and though we are no classical music experts, even we enjoyed the moment and appreciated his amazing talent.
Although we loved it, we’re not sure it will appeal to enough of the public to push Kyle into the final.
Judges Comments:
Dizzee: I liked it as well. It tells a story and I love all the different dynamics. It wasn’t too long or over indulgent.
Sharleen: I think you are massively talented. You are in your world when you are playing but you don’t separate yourself from the audience. The track you did before seemed more dangerous to me.
Jamie: You are a very talented young man. Not only did you teach yourself but you have an innate sense of what makes a composition work. You need a mentor who takes you where you need to go. What you are doing sounds fantastic.
