Alex Reid has denied claims that he is trying to usurp Peter Andre and that he plans to make an adoption bid for his children.

Peter has two biological children with Reid’s wife Katie Price, but also cares for her first son Harvey on a regular basis. After Kay Burley reduced Andre to tears with claims that Reid may want to adopt his children, Alex has insisted that nothing could be further from the truth.

Speaking to Alan Carr on his Channel 4 ‘Chatty Man’ show, Reid said:

He said: “Peter’s a great dad, I don’t want to take anything away from him, so why not all sit round a table…

“I am now officially a stepdad, it’s surreal, I love those little kids but I don’t want to be their dad like Peter Andre but I would love to be and I am, as we speak, an authoritative figure who can look after them and who cares for them.

“But no way, it is a weird one, I mean I can see how Peter would feel sitting there and I mean it must be horrible and I totally respect that.”
