Former X Factor winner, Alexandra Burke, has sworn herself away from footballers after her messy split with cheating ex, Tottenham and England striker, Jermaine Defoe!

Burke finished with the pint-sized footballer after it was alleged that he had cheated on the Bad Boys singer twice.

Friends of the singer have commented how they have warned her off dating the footballer, who’s dating CV includes Celebrity Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton, due to his bad boy reputation which has spanned years.

However, stubborn and determined Burke refused to listen to advice and insisted she would make her own judgement and give the love rat a chance to prove himself.

Silly mistake, as she is now licking her wounds whilst trying to focus on her career and determine the damage this poor match has caused it.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Alexandra will never date another footballer.

“She was warned heavily by people close to her what she was getting into but she went with her heart.’

They added: “What has gone on is such a shame because she was prepared to give up a lot of her promotional work this year to spend time with Jermaine and support his career.

“But now she’s more focused on her work than ever before.”

Defoe has denied allegations of cheating (well, these ones at least) with Kirsty Crummey, describing the woman as a ‘Peter Kay lookalike’ (classy!).

Meantime, Alexandra is looking onwards and upwards, making regular performances to promote her second album, Heartbreak on Hold, due for release on June 4th.
