Alice Fredenham reveals why she chose Britain’s Got Talent over The X Factor
Alice Fredenham has revealed why she chose to audition for Britain’s Got Talent and not The X Factor this year.
The stunning 28 year old singer wowed the panel at her tryout for the ITV show earlier this year and on Saturday night’s first episode of the series she became an instant fan favourite with her rendition of ‘My Funny Valentine.’
The former beauty therapist was described by Simon Cowell as having a voice like ‘liquid gold’ and she easily got four yeses from the judges and made it through to the next round.
Speaking to Unreality TV yesterday, Alice revealed why she chose to audition for BGT over The X Factor and explained:
“It was just that Britain’s Got Talent were auditioning at the time. And obviously I was on a bit of a low from being rejected from The Voice…”
Alice was rejected from The Voice last year and didn’t even make it past initial auditions to sing for the celebrity coaches.
It all worked out well in the end though and she added:
“I thought the best way to conquer that was to try again, so it could just as easily have been X Factor. It was just about the timing.”
Alice got a standing ovation from the audience and the panel after her BGT performance and she says the whole experience still feels ‘surreal’ to her.
The brunette beauty had to watch it back to make sure it all happened as she remembered and confessed:
“It was amazing, but when I watched it on Saturday, it was almost like seeing it for the first time because although obviously I was there, it was like not being there if you know what I mean…
“It was such a surreal moment, it felt like a dream to me. But I’m still shocked and astounded by what the judges said. It feels almost like they were talking about somebody else.”
Alice didn’t just receive positive comments from the judges but also from online fans too. After being inundated with messages of support on Twitter she responded, writing:
“Gosh…still reading everyone’s messages of support…still trying to my head around it all. Can’t thank you enough #BigLove”
