Amanda Holden is best known as an actress, a singer and a Britain’s Got Talent judge, however she may soon be able to add TV presenter to her CV.
The 41 year old – who belatedly celebrated her 40th birthday at a star studded party this week – is reportedly being considered for the role of host on ITV’s newest reality TV show ‘Superstar.’
The series will centre around Andrew Lloyd Webber and his search for the star of his hit musical ‘Jesus Christ Superstar,’ and though there has been much speculation about who will join the impresario on the judging panel, this is the first we have heard about who will be presenting the Saturday night shows.
The series will launch on ITV this summer and although Holden was reported to be taking a long break from showbiz after Britain’s Got Talent ends in June, it is claimed that she has been in talks with channel bosses about fronting the new venture.
A source told The Mirror:
“Amanda is the perfect lady for the Jesus Christ Superstar role as she has first-hand experience of what it is like to be on the West End stage from Shrek and Thoroughly Modern Millie.
“She has taken the job in principle and now contracts need to be worked out.”
Meanwhile, it was recently confirmed that Webber was joined by former Spice Girl Mel C and former Neighbours star and Joseph actor Jason Donovan for the show’s callbacks last week.
It has not yet been revealed who will join the Lord on the panel on a regular basis, but the smart money seems to be on Nicole Scherzinger, who is said to be in the frame to play Mary Magdalene in the rock arena tour, as well as judging on the ITV show.
