Alicia Keys acted as the celebrity mentor for this week’s American Idol and helped the final 7 to perfect their ‘inspirational songs for Tuesday’s live show.

The award winning star then took to the Idol stage herself for last night’s Idol Gives Back and performed ‘Unthinkable (I’m Ready) and Empire State of Mind from her most recent album, The Element of Freedom. She sang Unthinkable first, before heading to her piano to tell the crowd a little about where she’s from with Empire State of Mind part 2.
