Always the controversial one, Paula Abdul has blasted American Idol producers for introducing a fourth judge to the show.

Just as the live round begins, Paula has given an interview to OK magazine and said that the addition of Kara Dioguardi “doesn’t work” and that “it takes up so much time for each of us to give our opinion that it slows down the pace of the show.”

In case you think that Paula is being bitchy, you should know that she means no ill will to Kara, in fact she insists “Kara and I have known each other for years and we get along great.” Do you believe her?

On the upside Paula admitted that this may be her last season on the show. She states that “it is the last season of my contract, and I have so many other things I want to do”.

I think it would be no bad thing if Paula bowed out. In the first live show last week she could barely string a coherent critique together. She should probably concentrate on selling her tacky jewellery through QVC shopping channel and leave the actual professionals to choosing our stars of the future.
