America’s Got Talent 2011: Silhouettes dance group earn standing ovation from audience and judges (VIDEO)
America’s Got Talent launched it’s 2011 quarter final last night and one act that impressed both the judges and the audience alike was shadow dance group Silhouettes.
We had a fair idea that the 42 strong dance troupe would be amazing, after all producers granted the the final slot of the show, which generally means they are expected tp blow people away. It also means that bosses are keen for them to get to the next stage and when voting lines open, their act will be most fresh in people’s minds.
The youngest dancer in the group was the cutest thing ever and aged just three years old and the team chose ‘American Pride’ as their theme for their routine.
It was a mixture of ballet and modern dance and the routine really was awe inspiring and actually quite moving. Their ability to transform their numerable dancers into iconic shapes and landmarks was remarkable — and some of the recognisable shapes they took on were the U.S. Capitol Building to Mount Rushmore and the Statue of Liberty.
They finished by spelling out the word’ AMERICA’ for their finale.
Piers Morgan called it ‘complete genuis’ and a ‘world class act.’ Sharon Osbourne loved how ‘versatile’ the ‘incredible’ act was. Howie Mandell thought the dancers were ‘original’ and ‘neat’ and said they are ‘worthy of their own show.’
