Sharon Osbourne has revealed that she’s quitting America’s Got Talent – where she is of course a judge – in a cryptic tweet to fellow judge Howard Stern.

She wrote, “My darling, money is not the reason I’m not returning’ to the show.

“It’s because ….” leaving her followers in suspense as she didn’t elaborate further.

Apparently, during his SIRIUS XM Radio show recently, Howard spoke about the possibility of Sharon leaving the series, and her representative “did not immediately respond” to a request for comment.

However, NBC’s President of Alternative and Late Night Programming, Paul Telegdy, spoke to reporters today at the Television Critics Association summer tour, saying that Sharon is “a big part of the show,” but he refused to common on her Twitter post…

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that a source close to Sharon said that she “really wants to be close to her family right now.”

Sharon’s son Jack was of course recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to suppose that Sharon wants to spend more time with him and her new granddaughter.

However, her departure might also be connected to the rumour that X Factor judge Louis Walsh wants Sharon to be his assistant at Judges’ Houses this year.
