Andrew Lloyd Webber given cancer all clear
Andrew Lloyd Webber has been given the all clear from doctors who treated his prostate cancer.
He told The Mail On Sunday: “It is the hugest relief. We have arrived at the end of a long journey, at the best possible outcome.”
The 61-year-old revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer in October and had surgery to remove the prostate gland. He was then re-admitted to hospital after developing an infection.
Since his revelations, Lloyd Webber has warned men to visit a GP “at once” if they have any problem “down under – however embarrassing”.
“In my case, I will be 62 next year and I have five children,” he said.
“Most importantly, I am alive, my children have a father.”
Later this year Andrew will return to the BBC, to conduct a search for a Dorothy and Toto to star in a West End production of The Wizard of Oz.
