Ant and Dec are all set to team up with X Factor judge Simon Cowell for a new talent show.
The boys are expected to sign a deal to host Britain’s Got Talent, the UK version of Simon’s US show America’s Got Talent.
The reality show will see a nationwide search for talented members of the public but, unlike, most talent shows, people’s skill can be anything from singing and dancing to fire-eating.
Ant and Dec, who also presented Pop Idol, would present the series and Simon would , as always, the show’s own taste or realism.
It is rumoured that Simon will be joined by former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff and journalist Piers Morgan as judges.
“Ant and Dec loved working with Simon on Pop Idol and are really excited by Britain’s Got Talent,” said a show insider.
“We expect them to sign up next month so we can start the ball rolling.”
ITV is expected to screen the show from April or May next year.

I adore ANT and DEC and am from Newcastle too but surely there are more presenters to get a chance on shows, one series ends and these two seem to be signed up straight off for another, overkill and I cant believe there’s no other young presenters needing a break,(good job ANT and DEC arent starting out now,they’d never get on TV).What about JEFF BRAZIER and the like, Why always the same hosts. Are we really so short on people and new talent in the UK.Rod.

The talks have been between Simon Cowell and Ray Quinn as an extra sweetener to the Swing Disc he is expected to bring out in March.

This website can not speed up anyone application to the show.
If you were an early applicant no later than the middle of January you should have received an audition time date and place if you had been selected.
If you were a particualrly keen late apllicant and you had forwarded additional material to support your desire to audition than you should give the show a ring.

If this helps anyone, applied via website between Xmas and New year to audition in Bham. Received letter 20th Jan to say we had been selected to audition at the ICC on Mon 30th Jan, so not much notice, but hey guess thats Showbiz!! Had an amazing day…loads of attention, interviews both off and on camera, even filmed us registering and asked to have a dance-off with another dance troupe that were there adn filmed that too. Brill experience, everyone v friendly. Actual audition was just one guy (who it turns out was Head of Entertainment for Talkback Thames!!! glad we didn’t know before) and a cameraman, they were lovely, asked quite a few questions. Unfortunately we have not had a call back for next wks live performances at the Alex, which we are all so gutted about. but I guess thats how it goes…good luck to anyone yet to audition and to those who have got thru to the 2nd round…knock em dead!!! Still has to be said, it was a great experience! Good luck all

soz my audition is 21st at islington. Is any1 thr at 3.00 cos my friends are all on different days.
As far I know all songs have to be sung a capella ie without music…..yeah defo agree its the waiting that is horrendous, and then when you know people have had call backs the tension increases MASSIVELY….until you kind of get to a point when you realise there not going to call now!!! Its really gutting, particularly if you’ve had such an amazing day and been given really good feedback after your audition, which is what happened to us. Anyone who has not auditioned yet, just go, soak up the atmosphere and give it your best shot…you never know. Knowing a few acts who have been called back for Bham Round 2, it looks like theyve gone for “quirky/different” acts…I know of a Can Can team, a German folklore/song team…does anyone know anyone else whos go thru? Was anyone there on the 29th like us who got thru, we were 3pm?

The dancers obviously danced…we were told we were “excellent” and also got asked loads of questions before and after audition. Then 2 other girls entered as a singing/dancing duet…they did just that! They sang a capella and then danced…that time no feedback was given…wat did you do Jo? where and wat time? do you know anyone who’s thru? Did you get thru?

oh i wish you found out on the day if you get through! has anyone auditioned yet and if so is simon cowell there on the day?
Simon will probably not be at the London initial auditions - that will only be the production crew and staff. It’s a quick affair with you and a camera - verse and chorus - unless you are deemed as fantastic and then they might want a little more of you for the showreel. Get there a half hour before your slot and be prepared to wait. Take water with you.
If you get a call back for the second round of auditions, then it is likely that Simon will be there.
The London recall dates are 6th - 8th April - Easter Weekend. Don’t be disapointed if you are not chosen - go for the experience and learn from it for next time.

Simon has never been yet to a first round! The production team are seeing up to 100 people per hour at these. They simply won’t waste his time! Draw your own conclusions but I think it’s safe to say that he won’t be there. Thank God actually…..

First auditions are just in front of production and camera man…then you get a call if your thru to next round, which is then live in front of an audience. Judges are Simon, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan (he did Americas got talent) - thats how it for Bham anyway. We didn’t get thru (gutted!!!) but know someone who did. They did their 2nd round live audition yesterday and were told yes or no on the spot. They were a YES, so dead pleased for her and her team!!! She doesn’t know when theyve got to go back or where, just that they are thru…oh and she said Ant and Dec were there, it was amazing. Good luck everybody!!!

I’ve worked on another show like this so it’s got to work in roughly the same way. Except it would seem that the show acts are being selected regionally, hence Birmingham acts being selected seperately to the Londona acts. I guess they will only take a few types of act from each location and poss mix them up in the shows. As there will be more singers than any other type of ac t you will have to be exceptional to go further. That’s the reality. Good luck!

i had my audition on 26th ov jan in b’ham thy sed tht thy wud giv us a phone call if were thru and a leta if were nt within the nxt 4 weeks its only bin nearly 3 weeks n iv gt nuffin so far.

I was in the audience on the 12th and 13th of Feb and thought it was absolutely amazing!!!!
The idea to bring this event to Birmingham was a brilliant idea as us Brummies hardly get a chance to have such shows on in our city!!
It was great to see Simon Cowell aswell as Ant and Dec!
I love them soooo much!!

Your first audition in Manchester will be in front of the producers and they will tell you that you are being recorded and they will send the tape off and you will get a reply in about 4 weeks, that’s not true they will make their decision on the day but wont tell you, then if your successful you will get a telephone call within a couple of weeks, then next time it will be in front of the real judges. Yeah keeleigh they have to make sure you are available for the recall dates, if you are successful they will probably call you the week before or even a few days before 23 - 25 March. GOOD LUCK MATE X

i sent my application of for cardiff on tuesday I wonder how long they will take to reply….all the manchester letters are coming in though so thats a good thing cardiff should be coming…

My Son got 3 audition letters yesterday, think someone must have pressed send 3 times! Going on the 28th at 8.30am to Manchester. He is a singer too, looks like most people applying are singers on this site. He is too young for X Factor so thought he would have a go at this. Good luck everyone!
My dayghter got two audition letters so we chose the Sunday one for Birmingham rather than a Tuesday which was a school day.

If you do not hear try the BBC Website Talent Pages, they are auditioning at the moment for “Let me entertain you”, which is a similar show to this.
We filled ours in on-line but also sent a DVD of him as well. Good luck!

Oh I can tell you are nervous and anxious already.
Rest easy. The closing date for the applications to the CArdiff and Manchester auditions is the 21st Of Feb 2007. This means that audition notification goes out daily without rest to the thousands that have applied either by post or online.
The nearer it gets towards broadcasting time a phonecall is likely to be the only form of call back for the second stage of auditions, time is imperative and numbers vast. A few of the early auditions in the regions may well receive a letter.
In all reasonability you should say to yourselves after the first audition if you haven’t heard of your call back some 4 - 6 weeks later that you haven’t got through. Those of you old enough to be applying for jobs will know this is a reasonable period of time to wait.
The waiting of course is the killer. The thing is though if you are dexterous at browsing the internet you may well find other things to audition for, some a little closer to your home even. There is always next year as to. So everybody good luck and stay positive.

Hi guys i got my letter today for manchester auditions can’t wait should be fun. I was the 13 year old comedian on let me entertain you if any of you saw me.Should be fun to have thse auditions but there not as scary as they sound most people are really nice. They were nice on let me entertain you. Rember they called you hear so they wont be nasty just give it your best shot and get theyre in plenty of time .
Hello Sophie, not to worry. You could get a team of horses to exercise on the available floor space.
Relax Sophie its impossible to predict the questions you may be asked, just be yourself and do your best.
Recall dates are not set in stone yet as all the first auditions are not finished. But if you are lucky you may get a phone call some 4-6 weeks later for the second stage.

I auditioned at Birmingham on the 27th Jan and was told it would be 2-4 weeks to hear either way. I then mentioned the dates on my letter for the 2nd round were 12-14th feb and was told it could be there or london though? From what everyone says here I assume I would’ve heard by now.

dani if you were successfull, you would be sent a letter by post telling you that you got through and when your audition will be. the release form will be inclosed in that letter.
