Apply For Coleen’s Real Women Series Two!
ITV2 today announces that ratings success Coleen’s Real Women has been re-commissioned for a second series, produced by Endemol-owned Initial.
The programme, series one of which can currently be seen on Thursdays at 9pm, sees Coleen McLoughlin set the challenge of a lifetime…to find naturally beautiful women to be the face of 8 major brands.
Coleen travels around Britain in search of real women to win high profile modelling assignments. They are genuine jobs but with one major difference – all the women Coleen puts forward for the castings are amateurs, all professional models will be barred!
Of the four episodes which have been transmitted, Coleen has successfully found a real woman for three of the brands: hosiery firm Pretty Polly, make-up giants Avon and lingerie company Ultimo.
Coleen has this to say about the re-commission: “I’m thrilled that ITV has commissioned a second series of Coleen’s Real Women. I loved making the first series and have been made up about all he successes enjoyed so far by the girls taking part – with hopefully more to come. It’s great that the viewers are enjoying it too. Hopefully the new series will be just as successful in giving opportunities to Real Women.”

Hi Coleen,I would like to be put forward for an applicant for series 2 of real women, because i feel very comfortable with my body I don’t consider myself a big or small person am inbetween. I feel that its important to show society different things from the norm. I feel it is good that shows like yrs are aired on tv so that people can get an opportunity to express how they feel about there bodies, and if they are comfortable that’s all that matters.
I am not full of myself, but i do take pride in what i put into my body, i believe whatever you put into yr body will reflect on the outside. I don’t what to bore you, but I will save the rest of this conversation for when we meet in person on the show, (sorry i thought I would plug that one in). To the Prodcuer and Coleen,
I am not here to apply, but rather make some harsh comments about the industry and perhaps clarify some grave misunderstandings about the industry that this show fails to tell you.
I went to a casting a few days ago only to find out it was a product to be featured on “Coleen’s Real Women” – needless to say it was rigged for the show. I was gutted, not because it was most likely rigged to create a show, but because I work my butt off getting to castings and booking jobs. It took me over an hour to get to this casting and I find out that there is no chance of being considered!
I am appalled that “Coleen’s Real Women” is creating an idea that someone like me isn’t “Real” because I happen to be in the modelling world. It’s sending a message that models don’t work extremely hard and it’s insinuating that all this comes easily and natural because we have a special look about us.
I didn’t get scouted off the street, I walked into an agency and begged them to try me out. I was given a 3 week trial period, worked my butt off and earned my keep. I am shorter than the average “model”, I have cellulite, my hair isn’t perfect, and often times I’m too small to fit in to sample sizes which run at about a 10 to 12 so the number of jobs for me is limited. Not everything looks great on me and sometimes my skin breaks out. I am as “Real” as it gets!
For those of you who believe for a second that modelling is easy or glamorous or even a gateway to becoming famous, you are sadly mistaken. Let’s get one thing straight…I work bloody hard for each job I get. I go to 3-5 castings a day and maybe out of those 3 – 5 castings I land one or two jobs a week. From those castings I may even be working a job that’s free just to get work in my portfolio. The time and energy it takes is limitless.
Yes, it’s true that one can earn a good living off of modelling, but the reality is most models are scraping by while only a tiny percentage land big campaigns. I make just enough to pay rent, bills, eat “Real” food, and get from point A to point B on public transport. I live pay check to pay check with not even enough to pay taxes. Every casting is a big deal and a chance make just enough money to get through to the next month.
Coleen…perhaps this is something to consider when you are using your status to make deals with companies to get your “Real Women” in the door and knocking us “Fake” women to the side. We work harder than you can possibly understand and we put in more hours than a city banker while also having to constantly look fresh and awake. We don’t live glam lives…it’s all an illusion and we too are “Real Women”!!!

My name is Kiera Brogden.I am 14 years old and am in year 10 at school.I am in set one for everything and expected high grades.Everyone says I am pretty enough to become a model but that I should’nt throw my talent and schoolwork away..that I should become a doctor and that being a model is for people without brains..I dont think this is true and want to prove them wrong.I am tanned skin (as my mum is mixed race) with brown hair ,that is naturally curly but I do sometimes have it straight.I can do my make-up good myself and wear a variety of clothing and think my look matters , no matter where I am going. I am polite and will do anything to become a model.I am not saying I have everything to become a model,I dont but i will get 10 jobs if I have to ,to get the props.Nothing means more to me.I have not any pictures on the computer but if I get a reply ,by letter or email then i will be sure to take 100s of pictures to let you decide if I have got potential like I think I have.

I have always wanted to be a model, and i have contacted top modelling agencies only to be told im too curvy, too short and too old. It upsets me as its always been my dream and unfair as size 0-8 models are the only size they want. I would love to promote curvier girls to show curves are sexier and nicer than skinnier girls and prove that you dont have to be a size 0-8 to be a top model. Modelling seems to be a tough buisness to get into. I will admit I have never tried but is something I have always wanted to do if I could have that chance, as im now 20 years old my motif for the year is to try and get into the modelling industry, I feel that it will boost my confidence as ive had alot of weight issues. Now I have reached my target healthy weight I would love the chance to show off what I have.
I am 5,3 a curvey size 10/12 with dark brown hair and jet black eyes. I would desribe myself as individual looking and stands out in a crowd, not saying im stunning but just stand out. I am mixed race with tanned skin colour and a wicked personality.

I’m a 19 year old (20 in April) out going, ambitious, young lady. I am a lover of America’s and Britain’s next top model but never thought I’d ever have the opertunity to persue a career in that field, mainly because of my height and I don’t believe I am the required weight of a model (i.e size 6).

I have always loved your show I think its about time someone takes on the modelling industry, as its been shaping peoples ideas of what women “should” look like for as long as its been around. I am 27, 28 this year I have three children two of them girls and it concerns me that my 5 year old had body image issues all ready. So its good to see that someone has taken up the challenge of changing the modelling industries preseption of the sterotypical women from a stick thin, under feed quite often ill looking models, to a real women.
I am luck not to have any strech marks and have always bounced back to my size 10/12 figure alomst straight away after each of my childrens birth. Infact my lastest addission born on 9/1/9 I had a home birth and was in my old jeans 2 hrs after. I would like to think I could be one of your real women. Could you please let me know how to apply.

I love the show and feel that if you feel good about your body then why not try and go for this fantastic oppertunity to see if a real everday girl could become a star themself.

Dear Colleen. Hello. My name is Lyndsey. I am a 26 year old mother of 2 gorgeous girls aged 8 and 2. In September i gave birth to my 3rd baby girl but she was 16 weeks premature and only lived for 5 days. After going through such a terrible experince like that it has made me realise that life is too short to sit around day dreaming about what you want and to actually do something about it. My name is Zane and I`m 22 years old. I`m watching the show and it`s incredible how ordinary girls can get a chance of their life. When I was a child everyone thought i could be a model, but i didn`t grow up so tall – I`m just 5`3″. A year ago I was size 8, but now I`m size 10-12. In a teenage years I felt very ugly, still I don`t feel like model, but I would love to try – maybe that`s exactly you are looking for.

I’m a university student who has always been interested in modeling but never had a chance. I am 5″8, 18 years old and wanting to do something before I regret it. I have brown hair and brown eyes, and what alot of models don’t have, scars. Naturally tanned, I was a size 8-10 but i am now 10-12. I just want to show people that no matter what imperfections you have you can still be beautiful. I am a 24 year old full time mum and have watched your show from the start. I feel I am a real woman and would like to be considered for the show, i’m not your average girl as i have very prominant featues….one very prominant feature actually which I hate. I am 5′4 so am not very tall really which is why i would never usualy go for modelling. I am half asian with green eyes. I would like to see more people with features like mine to be shown and make it seen it doesnt matter how big or small something is, its all beautiful.

Last year when your programme started i actually applied for a few modelling agencys, unfortanetly i have never had the opputunrity or money to become a model. All my life they keep telling me I should be a model..Even now..I guess I could be but I refused when I was 14y old – and now I think it’s too late? I’m 25 years old but still look fresh and energetic:) Cause they say I’m quite natural beautiful, with smile on a face and camera likes me..:) Who knows? My name is Katie and have recently turned 21. I have also recently lost 2 and a half stone. For me the weight loss was more of a personal goal then falling under the pressure that today’s society has created. However, lately today’s image obsessed society has somewhat affected my outlook on my appearance. It has always been a struggle for me thinking, not necessarily that i was the most stunning, but that i was ok, until i met my boyfriend Simon. We met when I was 14 and have been together ever since I was 16, he is the love of my life and makes me feel like i am the most beautiful person in the world! I must admit i’m not like most of the girls that go on your show in respect of the fact that it hasn’t been my dream to be a model as it was something that was a passing thought as a child but was dashed when the bullying and realisation that i just wouldn’t cut it. therefore and opportunity to even just be able to take part not necessarily win, would be success enough for me.

I am told so often now by many people I know and meet that I should be a model – I would love to get into modelling but am not 16 until November, I love watching Real Women with my mum and would love to apply but am maybe too young this time? I watch your shows every week and I always wish it was me giving it a go. Each week I feel that I want to apply and I am really happy to see all the other women go out there and show us what they are all about! So I feel up to the challenge and would love a chance myself?
I really feel inspired that you are looking for ‘real women’ and with todays society it means that everyone has a fair chance at becoming who they want to be. I am 5ft 7inch and size 16, I have tried all different diets and never seem to get anywhere with them, so I am going to keep going with my curves and if I get a chance at this it will really boost my confidence with who I am and what I have got!

i am 19 years old and 5ft 11″ nearly 6ft and size 10-12, i have never really done modelling but my sister promted me to go for it.
I am happy within my skin and would like to show every other girl that you don’t need to be a size 0!to feel beautiful.

I’m 5″8, size 10, with a 34DD chest, short hair (always going form blond to brown, so not point in saying a colour!) and have an unique and versatile look.

I’m fifteen at the moment, five ft severn and I’ve recently been to london for a photo shoot with this deisel-models promotion which helps people whowant to become models build a portfolio, i really enjoed my day, adn the people in The Blue Room, where i had the shoot, said they think i have what it takes to be a model. I’m sure youv’e recieved sooooo many of these messages in the past, but i’m really keen on getting in to the modeling industry its been a life long ambition of mine, the down side is i’m only 5′4 which unfortunately is a big no no when it comes to auditions and castings. I can see that most comments are from young girls but i am 32 years but would wish to try such a great thing before i get older than i am.I dont really think i am that great but i can try because i am not that small either.I am 1,7metres and weigh 64 kg. I love your show, and think that what you are doing is really amazing.
I have always wanted to get into the modelling industry.
I do have a portfolio of some shots that I had done recently and last year with some amazing photographers. I loved every minute of it.
I am 5 foot 5 and half inches, size 6 on the waist and my chest size is a 34 D.
I have mousey hair and green eyes.
I have been told to send my photos off to agencies but I have never really known how to go about it and which ones I should approach.

I am half english, half turkish cypriot so have the mediterranean skin, hair and features but then have my mum’s light eyes (green). I am 19years old and very athletic. Have been told ever since about the age of 15-16 i could do hair and make up modelling but never proper modelling because of my curves, am size 12 clothes, 34D, size 6 feet. Would love the opportunity to prove these people wrong that think only stick thin women can be models.

For many years now Ive been trying to live my dream and be a model…but im always put aside because i have no experience or they havent given me a chance. I absolutley love the show. I have watched every episode and this particular time I felt really inspired to write and see if I could have a chance of participating. My name is Olivia Thomas and i’m 19years old. I’m a music student at university in leeds and am just your average size 14 woman but i dream of having the confidence in myself to be able to go out in Leeds and promote myself and my music. Firstly i would like to tell that you are fantastic at what you are doing on your show.
I am very interested in applying for a casting on your next series.I am 29yrs,have 2 children and married.
Last year for me was the worst year i had ever experienced.I hit below rock bottom and the only good thing was that i got married in july 2009. I am still trying to rebuild myself and get back my confidence i lost.I am getting there slowly and feel if i had a chance to show myself what i can do, it would be a great boost.

my name is Abigail, I’m 18, 19 in June. I adore anything vintage and retro, i adore the old glamour days and as a size 12/14 (bluddy shops never the same size!!!), i love the way clothes can make you feel so amazing; it’s taken a long time to feel this great about myself.
I’m 5ft6, black shortish hair, my eyes are brown/green one is a half and half, i do have quite a big bust (34f) but i think it works well with my body.

Just wanted to say how fab your show is, I always watch it then again a couple of days later, I think I drive my Fiance mad…But then again he always says how much it cheers me up and makes me more determined to look fab!!!! I am 26 years old,5 ft 8, size 8/10 with a 32c chest. I work in Customer servces, and just dream of being a model, therfore I would love the opportunity to audition for your next series. My name is Melissa and I am 23 years old. I love watching your show and seeing how a life long dream can become a reality. I particularly liked the episode where Sony needed a model for their mother’s day advert, and a lovely looking mother at 5″3 was chosen! That’s what inspired me to apply, because I have been trying to break into the modelling industry, but at just over 5″6 am not considered tall enough in the modelling world, and find because of my height I get overlooked. Its sad really, as people would assume someone who is a well-proportioned size 8 and has a toned figure, should have nothing to complain of. Except there are many girls like me who have strong features, great figures, and taller than the average woman, and yet still do not have a chance on the catwalk, or simply the chance to show off their potential.

I have always wanted to be a model. I have had a portfolio done about a year ago but have never had the confidence to go any further with it. I would really like the opportunity to be a real women. I am around 5ft 9″ and a curvy size 10. I am 21 years old and have always wanted to be amodel since I could remember. When i was younger and still to this day i have always been uncomfortable with my height, as i am alot taller than many girls i know. I hope you can help with improving my confidence and self esteem. I’m a student and 18 in August. I’d love more than anything to be on the next series. I’m 5′8 and size 8. I’ve always been concious about the way I look but now I’m learning to live with it and this would give me the ultimate confidence boost. I’ve always wanted to be a model and I’ve been told I have what it takes but have never had the opportunity. I watch the programme every week and it’s a real inspiration.

Iam a Ugandan boy aged 26 yrs by one mother 3 boys, 2girls, I have a sad story I would like to share with u it all started with good life we had every thing my father used to work as an accountant in Uganda hotels, we had very thing we went to good schools, let me say life was good my father was a very hard working man througth his saving he bought land and contructed a very big house and also bought land for farming.
It was 2000things started changing and daddy started finding medicine in his office, where by his workmates started bewitching him because they wanted his post. It was in September daddy lost his job life changed at home we dropped out of school, we some time never had lunch or supper , mis understanding at home thing changed and life generally.
In 2007although we were not in good conditions but slept well in our house it was this year the so called Indians who were chased during Amine regime came back looking for their propities they really had papers that showed they were owerners of the land we were in,were shocked and daddy did his level best but failed.
We had to vacate the land all daddy dreams was take away
One good Samaritan gave us 2 rooms were my parents are staying as a older son am renting 1 room with with my brothers but life is had for us we have no food, no money,we are home we have no school fess i kindly requesting to get me a foster i need your help

Hiya, I believe that it is now 2 late to apply considering that the show has started, but do you know if there will be a 3rd series? I have recently been rejected from angenices as I am 2 big to model, they say that if I lost the weight I could be sucessful, however, I have been completely dishartened by this and completely crushed. I have also gone to modelling agencys and i was not satisfied on what i saw, they say they are a big fan of natruel beauty but how come they be when they edited my pictures and made me look thinner than what i am, which i found as a insult as they should accept me for who i am i would love to persue my dream to get curvier women noticable as i think its more appealing.
I would love to get my self into the modelling industry especially through your show. so agencys can see the real me not the fake plastic barbie doll that dont look like me, it would also be my dream if yu pick me to come on your show

My younger days of dressing up in my mothers clothes,wearing her high heals and prancing up and down the hallway, with dreams of some day becomng a model were shattered when I only grew to 5′1.3″. ive never modled before but did put in for modelin jobs on the internet an was accepted the reason i didnt go threw with it was because a couple days after the call my gran sadly passed away and would really love the oppurtunity to try again with the help from u.just under 5 foot 8 and a size 8

I have watched your show from the start and think what you are doing is amazing! I think women need to see real women in magazines around the world to eliminate the theory that you have to be anorexic thin to be beautiful, because that is simply just not true. I have always wanted to do modelling and did do this when I was younger, however I haven’t pursued it because I never thought I was beautiful or skinny enough but after watching your show it’s given me new hope and I would really like to be a part of your show.

I would love the opportunity to be a model and to represent real women! I am sick of seeing skinny models as I feel it portrays a really bad image, especially to young girls, I know it affected me slightly when I was younger.
I’m a size 10-12 and am 5ft4. I have long hair and like keeping fit and healthy.
I think it’s great to have a show like yours and to be able to give women who have natural beauty a chance to model. I think that naturally, healthy, beautiful women is something that should be shown more of these days and you are helping with that! Women like Beyonce and Jlo are stunning and naturally beautiful and I think that stands out more than a skinny girl in a magazine.

Hello Colleen. Thanks for your brilliant real women series. My husband and I have so enjoyed watching. Beautiful girls, such a joy to watch.
Perhaps you would like to consider a programme in the future featuring glamourous ladies over the age of 50? You know, sometimes we feel forgotten in the world of fashion and beauty! At the age of 56, I have a full skin care programme, I have my hair cut in a trendy style regularly, and my make-up bag is as full as that of any 20 year old!
I think it’s important to point out that of course all your gorgeous girls mostly get their beauty from their parents, and their fashion sense and make up experience often starts with lessons from Mum.
Please please will you consider the idea of a new series featuring ladies over 50. We can sell make-up, hair products etc etc, after all we still use the products! We wont let you down!! We want to be excited, pampered, glamorised and not forgotten!!

I’m 22 years old, I had a son about 7 months ago. Prior to my son I was a size 8, I’m now a size 12.I’m about 5′6.
I’m interested in being a model after a photoshoot I did for fun, either make up or fashion including bikini’s etc, but unsure if I can make it as a model as few modeling agencies would look at me because of my stetch marks from my pregnancy, they are on my “love handles”, and very faint ones on the tops of my thigh’s.
I have put together a modelling CV, although I only have that one photo experience, I do however have a few recent pics.

HI
Im 6′2″ and will be 26 in May. Because of my hight, alot of random people recently have asked me if i model, of course i don’t. I feel im not the “model looking” type because of the scars on my face from acne when i was younger. Don’t get me wrong i love the way i look and wouldn’t change me for the world
I would love for the chance to prove to young girls with bad skin that it is possibal to get into modeling no matter what. So please tell me how to apply for colleens real women please.

I would love to be in the next series of real women.I am 26 and i have a 12 year old son. I have lost nearly 5 stone over the past 3 years and i have kept it off. I have have gone from a size 16 to a size 8 but i am only 5ft 2in. I feel that i am a real women with real body issues and hang ups. I feel that i could represent the real women well.

Hiya!! im Rachel im 19 from Hull, East Yorkshire. I dont know how to apply for this but anyways… Ive always wanted to do some kind of modelling like most girls of course, but because im only 5′7 and abit, with a curvy size 14 figure i dont have no chance in that direction if you get my drift. I think its a once in a life time opertunity and think its real good that your giving every day women the chance to do this. Id love to do it and think id be good at it if i got the chance. If you ever look for an older model – consider me, im 37 and have three boys.I’m lucky I look younger I get confused with my 18 year old son’s girlfriend, which I love, but he doesn’t always. I’m a curvy size 12 -14 and I’m 5′10, so if the opportunity arises I maybe you’d give me a chance??

Hi Colleen, i am 18 year old student, and I would love to have the experience of promoting the ‘real’ woman. I am 5ft4 and a size 10, so id always thought modelling was out of the window until your show. I love the fact that it shows everyone is beautiful.

hi coleen. my name is serina. i am 20 years old. it has been my dream to become a high profile model. i am a size 10/12 and 5ft 8inches tall. i believe i would be great for your show as i believe there should be more models who are curvier instead of size zero role models who corrupt young girls minds!
i have been approached by heather marsh castings when i was 18, and have also been aprroached by asiana magazine. i also did i photo shoot last year for a company called hell bunny.

p.s I forgot to mention that i don’t think models are just about being beautiful it very much depends on their confidence in front of the camera and how photogenic they are. Personality of an upcoming model is also a major factor.

Dear coleen I’m 23 years old, I’m 5′9″ tall, blonde hair blue eyes and size 8/10. My brother works for Toni & Guy as a stylist and I’ve modelled for him on several occasions. I am currently working as a nurse and everyone who knows me says I should become a model. I would love the opotunity to give it a go.

I am another ‘Real’ woman who is a big fan of your show. I had never considered modelling until your show started (probably because i’m not a size
but now i think i have what it takes. Im funny and confident, 24 years of age, 5ft 10, 34F bra size and size 12-14 with a great complexion.
I don’t belive in dieting, I love chocolate but believe in healthy eating and running to keep me the size I am.

I am a 25yr old single mum from hertfordshire, luckly after having my little boy i never gained too much weight but always feel i have big hips. I watch your show and can see the confidence you have given people and feel thats amazing. I would love the chance to be a model, im size 8/10 and 5ft 6 In the summer i have alot of freckles and need to stop feeling so ashamed of them lol

I am 18 years old and about to take my A levels. i have often been told by people that i could be a model. (generally friends parents strangely) i would like to be a real model in a real size. i am researching the industry (beyond what i have learnt in GCSE/A level media) and looking for a job within my area and would like to work within this industry. i heard about your show and would like to apply. i have been doing amature dramatics for some time with in school and college and outside with my local youth groups and guild. this has given me a self awareness and self confidence on stage in front of audiences, judges and cameras. i believe this would give me the confidence needed to become a model. contact me back with details to apply or any other information you wish, thank you.

I am writing a comment on here as I watch your programme each week, it really enspires me. I have had a rubbish year having being through A traumatic still birth, I thought I would apply to boost my confidence and have a new challenge, I have always wanted to have a chance of being a model just never dared to give it a shot. please dont forget me. like most of my friend and some members of my family to. im an 18 year old 5f 3ich woman with a great personallity. i am a mum of a beautiful 9 month year old baby boy. i have tried everything to become a model and im fed up of the same exuses they give me. my main problem is the fact i cannot do shots with my tummy showing. this is down to it being covered in strech marks. so now im taking this one last shot at modeling. so pleeeeeease at least read this.
