Australian Idol To Audition In London & LA

In a bid to boost its flagging ratings, Australian Idol is set to hold auditions overseas for the first time.
Producers and judged will fly into London and LA in a bid to find some talented Aussie ex-pats for the show.
Freemantle Media Australia, the company behind the show, said that more Australians live in the U.K. and the U.S. than live in the smallest Australian states of the Northern Territory, the Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania combined, and that they want to “tap into this fantastic and as yet unknown talent pool.”
Judge Kyle Sandilands and several unnamed celebrity guest judges will host the L.A. auditions on April 13 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, while judge Ian “Dicko” Dickson, will host the London auditions on April 19 at the Cumberland Hotel in London’s West End.
