Baby Brother: Has Channel 4 Gone Too Far

So in case you didn’t know, Channel 4 is making a new Big Brother style show, but not as we know it. This time the house will not be filled with adults whose primary goal in life is to land a rich footballer, but with young children aged between 8 and 11.

The children will live alone for two weeks, and although their parents will be living close by, they will not be allowed to enter the children’s home unless something goes wrong.

Now we all know that Big Brother, Channel 4’s biggest cash cow, is on the brink of crashing and burning, but is that any excuse to make a show that may put young children’s mental health at risk, just to claw back some badly needed viewers.

Worse still, in my view, are the parents who allow their children to take part in this sort of low grade TV show. I have a seven year old daughter and no one could pay me enough money to allow her to live away from her family, with no adult supervision, for two nights, let alone two weeks. What is the world coming to?
