I loved Any Dream Will Do and I'd Do Anything was fine as far as the Olivers were concerned but, as with Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing On Ice, the public is now automatically voting for the underdog or along regional lines, instead of considering the best person for the part. In addition, the producers seem to want to reinvent the part and give it to someone raw or fresh. There seems to be a contradiction on both sides. Surely it should be who is going to give the best performance to all those who pay for tickets?
