Big Brother 2012: Adam Kelly at centre of row over banana peel “ciggie” & Jesus joke!
After the drama of last night’s eviction, nerves were fraught in the Big Brother house, and while most of the housemates chose to unwind with the booze BB provided, Adam Kelly apparently had other ideas…
The Daily Star reports that Adam allegedly rolled what he called “a ciggie” using a banana peel, which the paper states he then “passed around” his fellow housemates.
There is a school of thought that believes smoking a banana skin will get you “high”, however, researchers at New York University have debunked the myth, claiming the resulting cigarette has nothing but a “placebo effect” and contains no psychoactive properties.
But placebo effect or not, it seemed to cheer Adam up, but he – unwisely as it turned out – then made a gaffe by sticking two matchsticks into the end of his creation to make a “crucifix…”
He then laughed, “I’m smoking Jesus!”
However, Sara – who’s previously stated that she believes in God – yelled at him, “No! You don’t smoke Jesus. I don’t appreciate people smoking Jesus on a cross. How very dare you. It’s sacrilege.”
Luke A tried to calm the situation by saying, “It wasn’t Jesus on a cross” but Sara wasn’t about to be placated that easily.
However, her righteous indignation tends to only surface when she’s on the outside of a fair amount of booze, but Luke A seems to think she’s faking her drunkenness.
When Lauren said to him, “How does she get so drunk every time?” Luke replied, “She’s not really drunk. It’s an act.”
However, back to the great banana peel debacle, and long terms fans of BB may recall that in 2001, housemate Dean O’Loughlin was told off by the big guy for doing the same thing.
The show’s producers told him not to do it again because of the “health implications” of smoking banana skin.
