Big Brother 2012: Conor row prompts 1,000 complaints but Deana sparks new outrage over sex swap ‘prank’

The first series of ‘regular’ Big Brother on Channel 5 has certainly provided a good deal of drama, even just three weeks in, and as fans of the show will know, the latest controversy has surrounded a rant by Conor McIntyre about fellow housemate Deana Uppal.

Just in case you’ve been in space or something and missed the debacle, you can click here and here to read about it.

However, it’s been reported today that around 1,000 viewers have complained to Ofcom about Conor’s now infamous words, but Channel 5 insist that the issue has been dealt with and no further action will be taken.

A C5 spokesman told the Sun, “He [Conor] was immediately called into the diary room, warned and reprimanded.

“He has fully acknowledged that this was unacceptable behaviour. We are satisfied that he should continue to participate…”

Meanwhile, the alleged injured party in the row, Deana Uppal, has herself sparked controversy and upset in the house by “joking” with fellow housemate Becky Hannon that she – Deana – was born male.

And of course, for Luke A, who was born female, ‘jokes’ of that nature are not overly amusing, and he was furious with Deana.

The saga began when Deana told Becky, “I used to be a man. I thought you knew.

“Thought you’d read up on me. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, I thought you knew.”

Becky immediately ran into the bedroom and said, “Deana just told me she’s a full-on man.

“She has had surgery and everything.”

Luke A angrily confronted Deana, saying, “Why are you f***ing joking about something like that? It’s not funny.

“Don’t you think it’s a little bit insensitive? You could have picked anything but that. I find it hard.

“It’s not funny to me, it’s really close to home for me.”

Deana immediately replied, “Oh no! Please don’t be offended. Please don’t be insulted. It was just a prank.”

Apparently, Big Brother was “monitoring the explosive situation” overnight.

Wow people really do want us to forget about the Conar situation by bringing out Deanas uneducated flaws. Fair enough bb should punish Deana for the offence. But Conar still needs to be kicked out because this has offended thousands of prank deanas might be a silly joke but conars wss sexual abuse regardless if its targeted towards n idiot. :/

  2. Sapph says:

Also what Deana said she should be warned for it and if 10000 viewrs get offended by itBB should do something and why still make people forget about the Conar thing or make it even? She said it out of stupidity and should be dealt with for it he pointed out sexual abuse angirly Deana was an offence and Conars was a threat. No point in Ofcom if nothing is being done

  4. Calvin says:

Wow sarah you like connor don’t you? Being intimidating and aggressive towards women is hardly the same as an insensitive joke, like gabby said she’s thick not malicious…big difference….. Connor and his muscle mary lackeys thought, planned, shunned and insulted two girls they didn’t like and it’s so hard to watch, just like high school bullying… should’ve been nipped at the bud but nope, big brother thrives on anarchy and who cares about the well being of the other housemates…?

  5. Calvin says:

oh and i can’t stand that Becky….. her personality makes me physically sick….not just a sheep but a malicious fishwife at that…..

It’s about time big brother removed Caroline and Conner from the house. To show young people that this sort of behaviour is unacceptable show that that there will be consequences for their actions bullying in schools is a serious matter the children that watch this programme seeing adults act this way towards one another is shameful. Help put a big stamp on bullying it’s just proving my child’s point the bully always wins. I vaguely remember when Jade Goody was evicted from the house for the same sort of thing she was made to apologise publicly and shamed really for her actions the same should be done with these two people you are still giving air time too.
