Big Brother 2012 Day 5 Round-Up: Spud & Banger Gate kicks off & Lauren gets mad at Arron! (VIDEOS)

Day 5 in the BB house began promisingly enough, with the housemates toasting new beginnings and an end to the negativity that many – particularly Arron – felt that Victoria Eisermann had brought to the house during the first three days.

However, Arron was soon at that centre of a sh**storm when he – illegally apparently – cooked a jacket potato for himself without taking a democratic house vote on whether he was allowed to or not. Tuts loudly.

But there’d already been tension building in the kitchen when, having all agreed to eat nothing but sausages all day – given there was a glut of them – the bangers were cooked and divided up, ensuring everyone got the same amount.

However, Arron sneaked a spare one and gave it to Chris, who promptly ran into the bathroom with his contraband and didn’t even chew before swallowing…

But it wasn’t long before everyone else spotted that the sausage had gone AWOL, and questions were asked, with Lydia and Deana turning into Sherlock and Watson as they sniffed out evidence.

And it was while that investigation was ongoing, and a number of housemates were helping Lydia and Deana with their inquiries, that Spud Gate began…

So, with danders up all over the shop, the mood of general angst turned to bitching, with Sara accusing Lauren of being two faced, and Luke S, Lydia and Conor trying – and failing – to keep a nominations chat secret, tension prevailed for most of the afternoon.

Oo, I can’t wait to see how BB punishes them, for punish them they must. Forbidden it is, said in Yoda voice.

And here’s Lauren, Ashleigh and Sara becoming BFFs again after the earlier tensions…

But it wasn’t all doom and gloom, and some hilarity ensued when the sofa broke… again.

And conversatoin of a rather bizarre kind soon cracked off…

And finally, it was back to tension as nominations are of course looming…

Who are you hoping will face the chop this week?
