At the start of last night’s Bit on the Side, following Lydia Louisa’s eviction from the Big Brother house, BOTS host Emma Willis had a lamentably quick word with the ever so gorgeous Brian Dowling about what lies ahead for the housemates in the coming week…

And he revealed that the house is going to be “divided” and added, “They’ll have to do stuff to win stuff.”

Adding that the task will, “last nearly the whole week” he went on to say, “I want to see people who don’t like each other paired off.

“I want to see Ashleigh and Lauren together.”

The show’s series editor, Andrew Jackman, recently hinted at the divide task, saying, “I think you know already there’s a game changing task next week…

“It’s going to be big, and [there will be] a twist that’s not even related!”

But of course, a house divide isn’t new to the show, and it happened in both series three in 2002 – in which Jade Goody was a housemate – when the house was split into Rich and Poor side, and again in 2008, which was of course BB9, when it was divided into Heaven and Hell.

I cannot wait to see the new divide, and like Brian, I’m really hoping that it’s going to see pairings off that are likely to cause some friction, and I’d also like to see Ashleigh and Luke S split up, just to see how ‘solid’ their relationship really is!
