Big Brother 7 May Impose Smoking Ban

Producers for the Big Brother 7 in the UK are considering banning smoking from the Big Brother house this summer.

They have come under increasing pressure from various anti-smoking groups and organisations and have watched as the Australians outlawed cigarettes in their recent series of Big Brother.

A spokesperson for Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) said: “We’ve called on Channel 4 and Endemol to consider imposing a full ban on cigarettes this year.

“The TV show has a young fan base and clips like this encourage them to copy their idols.”

“It seems remarkable that Channel 4 warn viewers about swearing or sex scenes on the show and say nothing about the dangers of smoking.”

Hey, in Australia we have NEVER allowed smoking in the Big Brother house and it makes for GREAT entertainment! Just imagine how volatile the housemates get when coming off ciggies!

Even if smoking was banned from the big brother house, even though we would’nt see anyone smoking, the smokers in the house would constantly talk about cigarettes & moan that they have’nt got any, making younger people probably want to try it out even more to see what it’s like.
