Big Brother 7 May Impose Smoking Ban

Producers for the Big Brother 7 in the UK are considering banning smoking from the Big Brother house this summer.

They have come under increasing pressure from various anti-smoking groups and organisations and have watched as the Australians outlawed cigarettes in their recent series of Big Brother.

A spokesperson for Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) said: “We’ve called on Channel 4 and Endemol to consider imposing a full ban on cigarettes this year.

“The TV show has a young fan base and clips like this encourage them to copy their idols.”

“It seems remarkable that Channel 4 warn viewers about swearing or sex scenes on the show and say nothing about the dangers of smoking.”
