Big Brother host Emma Willis’ game show Prize Island is “so bad” it may never air, despite costing millions!
We reported a few weeks ago that new Big Brother host Emma Willis was working on a new game show entitled Prize Island, which she co-hosted with Pointless presenter Alexander Armstrong…
However, it’s been revealed today that the show, which cost ITV “millions” to stage and film, is so bad, it may never be aired.
The Sun’s TV Biz reports, “Bosses have spent millions on the new show, in which couples try to win prizes hidden in an African island paradise.
“It was devised by Pointless star Richard Osman and filmed last October in Mozambique…
“But it still has not seen the light of day. Sources say it was due to air this spring and could have gone up against The Voice.”
One TV insider said, “Prize Island has been kicking around for so long everyone’s convinced it’s been dumped.
“It’s a very ambitious show and expensive — because the production crew and stars had to be carted off thousands of miles away to film it.
“The rumour is it isn’t very good.”
And it seems even Richard isn’t a fan of the finished product, writing in na article last year – which was entitled, UK TV’s worst ever gameshows – “Do we have a hit on our hands?
“Considering I’ve just watched a couple from Birmingham win a fitted kitchen by bouncing off an enormous inflatable octopus, your guess is very much as good as mine.”
Last night an ITV rep said the show will air “sometime in 2013” but didn’t say when.
Here’s a reminder of Emma interviewing last week’s Big Brother evictee Sallie Axl…
