Biggest Loser trainer Angie Dowds found dead
The body of Angie Dowds has reportedly been found on a beach, it has been reported.
The personal fitness trainer, who was last year sacked from ITV1′s Biggest Loser series – is believed to have jumped to her death from the cliffs at Beachy Head, Eastbourne, East Sussex and her body was later found on the beach below.
It is believed that the blonde star was suffering from depression, after facing a tough year in her personal life. She split from fiancee Corrie Preece just a few months ago and some claim she had suffered from drink and drug dependency problems in the past.
A Sussex Police spokesman confirmed the news today, stating:
‘Just after 4.30pm on Sunday members of the public reported that a woman was seen to jump or fall from the top of cliffs at Beachy Head.
‘Coastguards found the body of woman at the foot of the cliffs about an hour later.
‘There are no suspicious circumstances and it is believed that the body may be that of a 42-year old woman from London.’
Angie was sacked by ITV bosses last year, after she was caught telling her contestants to cheat. The fitness trainer has worked on the ITV weight loss show since 2005, but during the last series, producers overheard her telling her team to eat just fruit and nuts ahead of their next weigh-in, in a bid to drop pounds more rapidly.
Insiders say that she remained friendly with the show;s presenter Dabina McCall and she paid tribute to her pal on Twitter last night, writing:
‘Rest in peace Angie Dowds @angechops. So so sad.’
On a fan group dedicated to Angie on Facebook, fans posted messages of condolence. One wrote:
I’ve just woke up to the sad news that Angie Dowds my friend and mentor has passed away…. The strongest most amazing light has just gone and I’m so glad I was a part of that for even the shortest time… I still hear your voice in my head shouting “Never give up….Black Team”
Another added:
OMG cannot believe it you will be so sadly missed thinkin of your family at this very hard and sad time God Bless you Angie R.I.P. XXXXXXX
A third fan continued:
So sadly missed. Thank you so much for helping me put my life back in order. You placed me on the first step and shinned me up a couple more. God bless with all my heart. Thank you for inspiring me and everyone else you touch upon xxx

OMG Such sad news! R.I.P
I have just finished doing my biggest loser workout dvd its the fist ive done it in a few weeks so put on my facebook just to be shocked to find out that angie had died R.I.P angie xxxxxxx
This is tragic news. Seeing Angie on The Biggest Loser a couple of years ago inspired me to take action. I’m saddened to hear of her (or indeed anybody) going to such lengths.
I now train regularly and am well on the way to achieving my goals. Angie made a signification contribution to that and I will continue my efforts with increased vigor due to this.
Tragic.

couldnt believe the news when i heard it so sad my thoughts are with her family and friends ,shes at peace with herself now,
So so sad, such an inspiration to so many people. A lady who I admired and was admired by so many. RIP Angie, may the angels look after you.
Im sorry that she has passed in such tragic circumstances however she was a cheat and that turned me off of the Biggest Loser and her. All the same RIP
