After watching the programme on channel 4 last night I was left distressed and horrified by what that woman is doing to her son! That poor doctor must have felt awful that he could do nothing to help Jambik and that his silly mother would not listen to him, I only wish someone could take Jambik away from her. If I had the money I would pay her to stop her doing what she seems to be doing ( as money is what she seems to want ) . Poor or not she must know she is killing her son and in this country am sure she would be taken to court, people who treat animals badly have their animals taken away so why not remove her rights to have that lovely boy as her son.

After the watching the program i believe that the boy was given steroids and how can his mother destroy his life?. i understand she is poor and her son’s condition brings them fame and money but she will end up killing him. I think they should have done more research on his condition and more research such as eating patterns, exercise etc (I know they did that for a week but that was not long enough)

I found this programme very disturbing and sad and imagine that jambik will have a very short life since his heart is already struggling to cope with his massive body size. He did seem very content and had a lovely personality. In the absence of any other evidence I do have to blame the mother and steroids for his condition. There were several times in the programme when she showed very little concern for jambiks wellbeing over her own lifestyle and seemed to think she was more knowledgeable than the doctors who have given her advice…Smacks a bit of the story of the goose who laid the golden egg…

I found this programme quite fascinating. The family is obviously a very loving one & both boys seem very happy. These aspects I found very humbling & it actually was refreshing to witness a mother instilling into her son a sense of pride for being different; Western society would have made him feel shame amongst other things. There were however very srious issues raised & possibly the truth as to whether Jambik was given steroids will never be known & it woud seem that the his bone mass currently can only be explained by either the use of steroids or genetics. With regard to Jambik’s weight though, would it not have been beneficial to have him put on a controlled diet & the results of that monitored? This, at least would have surely explained whether his weight alone was natural or as a result of morbid over-eating. I found it strange that this was not suggested. I also found that Dr. Ian Campbell had made his mind up prior to meeting the boy as to the cause of his condition & indeed tried to influence the Moscow doctor rather than allowing her to objectively reach her own diagnosis.

mr scott phillips! have ou got a vested intrest in this boy? why are you ignoring the facts that were thrown in you’r face for almost 1 hr? his mother stated more than once she i unemployed and lives in communal flats 1 how can she afford the designer clothes she is wearing? she was wearing a lot of make up for a women that has no job, or any other means of support!, she had a mobile phone! a lot for a women witha seriously sick child, another child!, and no job or equity?? AGREE?

it’s obvious she’s lying!, of she would not admit on tv, who would? he eats more than most adults do i a day but even with no excercise his size is impossible to attain, there fore two options, they are lying about his age or he is being given body mass boosting drugs i.e. steroids, his mother would be locked up if she lived in europe, other parts of asia or america, this is child abuse for money, PURE AND SIMPLE.

This is a tragic story one that will almost certainly end in the young boy having a heart attack. The doctors asked her if she had given him steriods to which she said no, which is fair enough but when they warned her that he would be very ill if he did strenuous execise she completely ignored this advice….THAT IS WHAT IS SO WRONG HERE.
A childs heart couldn’t possibly cope long term with having to pump blood around his huge body ASWELL as additional exercise….TICKING TIMEBOMB…bless this poor little child.

I felt that this programme was vey educational and gave me a good insight into what steriods can possibly do to your body. I feel sorry for the boys mum as she is being accused of such things as giving her son steriods, and i believe she should be given a break as if she say’s she didnt then we should believe her and respect her. The boys seems to be living a happy life and looks like he is dedicated to sumo wrestling and i give him my best wishes for a great career in the sport. Scott.
