Breaking up isn’t so hard to do when Shannen Doherty (Beverley Hills 90210, Charmed) is on your side. Whether it’s getting out of a bad relationship, leaving an awful job or terminating a toxic friendship, breaking up is never fun, so why do it alone? In this brand new show for ITV2, Shannen has fun playing the ultimate fairy godmother, with a twist. Breaking Up With Shannen Doherty is brand new and exclusive to ITV2, Tuesdays from 13 February, 8.30pm.

In each episode, Shannen uses her relationship skills and expertise to help one half of a couple, friendship or even roommates to break free from their ever dwindling situation. Each week Shannen listens to two new clients as they plead for her help. She then creates a fictitious and deliberately testing scenario, all caught on a hidden camera, to see if the relationship deserves the ultimate break up. If Shannen decides the partnership must come to an end, she will deliver the news to the unsuspecting ‘break-ee’ in her own unique and distinctive way.

In episode one, Shannen works with Tamara and Steve who were once opposites that were totally attracted to each other. However, time has taken its toll on this unlikely pair and it is soon clear these opposites need to be apart – NOW! Tamara moved to LA to get over a break up with her boyfriend of 1 ½ years, but she immediately met and got together with Steve. However, Tamara now realises she needs to spend time as an independent woman, but having tried numerous times to end the relationship, Steve always manages to talk her round.

Shannen sends Tamara and Steve to a cookery lesson where unknown to Steve the chef and waitress are actually actors. Throughout the lesson Steve is increasingly disrespectful to Tamara and as this continues Shannen decides she has seen enough. Shannen enters the room and delivers the break up news to Steve. To her horror Steve begins to flirt outrageously with her which only confirms Tamara’s insightful decision to end their relationship.

In each episode, Shannen masterminds the break-up, and is on scene to deliver the news and resolve the situation. The goal is for both parties to agree that it’s for the best and it’s time to move on.
