Britain’s Got Talent 2012: Alesha Dixon says Amanda Holden is her BFF

Alesha Dixon of course joined the judging panel of Britain’s Got Talent this year, having been lured away from Strictly Come Dancing by Simon Cowell

And in an interview with TV Biz, Alesha has revealed that she and fellow BGT judge Amanda Holden are as close, and “maybe closer”, as David Walliams and his Simon are.

She said, “Simon and David had the bromance, but Amanda and I are just as close, maybe closer. We’re 100 per cent friends.”

Alesha also confirmed that although nobody’s signed on the dotted line for 2013 as yet, she’s in no doubt that she and the other three 2012 judges will be back for the new series next year…

She said, “Simon’s really open about not wanting to change the panel. We all want to come back and can’t wait for 2013.”

Getting back to her sismance – well, if bromance works, why not – with Amanda, Alesha said, “On BGT prior to the live shows, all the focus was on David and Simon’s lovely bromance…

“But when the live shows happened you could see Amanda and I genuinely got on really well.

“I had respect for Amanda before I met her and she was so welcoming to David and me.

“She took me out for coffee and we had a good chinwag and we both got on. We’re just grateful for doing something we both enjoy.

“Amanda is so straight talking, I love that about her and she’s good fun.”

And finally, Alesha went on to say that she’s glad she’s working on BGT rather than Simon’s other baby, The X Factor.

She said, “I love being on BGT. I watch X Factor and I’m a fan, but it’s a completely different show…

“On the X Factor, the judges are competing against one another, so there is bound to be that bit of tension, whereas [at BGT] we’re in it together as a team.”

Are you hoping this year’s judging panel will remain unchanged for 2013? Or would you rather see a new crop of judges?

Definitely want it to stay the same, although I did enjoy Carmen Electra’s taking a turn for a few sessions. But I would love to see the four main judges return. There is a special magic there.
