Simon Cowell is one of those people who has the Midas touch, and it seems he’s intent on applying said touch to BGT winners Ashleigh Butler and her canine pal Pudsey by making them into pop stars.

Simon has of course made no secret of the fact that his personal quest is to find dogs who can entertain the nation in any capacity, and when Ashleigh and Pudsey were declared winners of this year’s show, Simon said, “My life’s work is complete.”

And he’s also no stranger to working with dogs – of the four legged kind that is… although… – since he once released a track of dogs barking.

I bet he wishes that clip would just go and die somewhere quietly.

However, of his plans to get Pudsey into a recording studio, a source said to close to him told The Daily Record, “Simon reckons the sky is the limit for Pudsey.

“He has captured the hearts of the nation with his skills and his lovable nature.

“He would find it amusing to go to the Brits with Pudsey on his arm as a nominee for Best Single.”

Well, he’s right; I for one would pay good money to see that.
