Love Island Costs ITV Twice More Than Big Brother

It has been revealed today that this summer reality TV show Love Island cost ITV £12 million pounds, twice as much rival show Big Brother.

Hundreds of crew and entourage were flown to the South Pacific, their hotel bills and fees also contributed to the costs. Big Brother’s production team was around 60 people, and was filmed at Elstree in Hertfordshire.

Despite the hiked production costs, the ITV1 show did not bring in the anticipated viewers for the broadcaster.

Over its run, Big Brother attracted an average adult audience of 4.2 million with Love Island only managing 2.14 million viewers.
