Channel 4 to launch new structured music festival reality show, Sumer Daze, to rival Made In Chelsea and TOWIE?
Channel 4 are planning on making a new reality show, much in the same style of popular shows Made in Chelsea and The Only Way Is Essex, based on a group of summer festival goers.
Partnered with BlackBerry, the show, to be named Summer Daze, will be produced by Monkey Kingdom, the same production company responsible for bringing us insights into the young lives of London’s elite socialites, and is aiming to fill the gap of reality shows during the summer months whilst both TOWIE and MIC have breaks following their last series finales.
Focussing on a group of 18-25 year olds, Summer Daze will be shown in 8 episodes as it follows the group as they travel the country’s music festivals, letting the audience witness first hand the revelling and shenanigans that takes place on the fields of some of the most publicised summer events the country has to offer.
As an additional quirk, BlackBerry hopes to make Summer Daze a multi-platform experience by launching an on-line hub which will allow the audience to interact with the show, which fits in nicely with the mobile phone providers latest campaign which centres on celebrating ’people of action’.
